My husband and I found this place by accident when we were on our way, to a wedding in Carmel California. We are from New York and just happened to see this place online while we were looking for a place to stay before taking our trip up the coast. I simply cannot say enough nice things about the Elk Cove in and Elaine and her wonderful staff. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean plus the staff goes out of their way to make you feel right at home. The only difference I saw between the Elk Cove and home is at the Inn I was the one being waited on, instead of me doing the waiting on. Their breakfasts are to die for, with everything you could wish for to choose from. The the views are magnificent sunrise to sunset and the beach is a total stress reliever. We both loved this place so much and we are planning another trip there in the spring of 2014 and as a surprise my husband has already booked our stay. I'm so looking forward to going back to the Elk Cove Inn because in my mind there is no place better to unwind, get back to nature and to get back in touch with the one you love.

We loved this place. The rooms are really cozy and the location is fantastic. I recommend getting there with a couple hours before sunset so you can spend some time on the beach. The service is super friendly and the breakfast is delicious. There's not much more I could have asked for out of a beach front B&B. We didn't have time to try the spa so I can't comment about that. We definitely have this on our list of places to return to next time we're in the area.

Outstanding in every respect. I almost hesitate to write a review because this is such a hidden gem, but - if you're willing to make the long drive up from the Bay Area (or if you're lucky enough to live points north), this is the best, most romantic place you could possibly stay on the North Coast. The rooms are top-notch, with all sorts of decorative touches. They get all the details right, and they remember you when you come back. The breakfast in the morning is awesome too. Absolutely sinfully good, and the champagne doesn't hurt either. :)

Management was very nice. Great breakfasts. Beautiful ocean view room. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here.

Fantastic! Exceeded all of my expectations. It felt like I owned the place the way everything seemed to be catered to me personally. Thanks Elk Cove.
