This is an excellent Hotel and Span. Went there two days ago and I cannot fault it on any dimension of service, food and spa. Friendly and unassuming staff, any problem or request immediately dealt with with a smile and a light touch. We had an treatment at the spa to remember for many years to come. We went for the Tasting Menu and it was heavenly and full of little surprises. Full marks. 5/5.

Martin Burge knows his pudding as they say ! Outstanding food and harmony of flavours worthy of 2 stars. The only problem is the location of The Dining Room. Awful !!! Why not re-locate The Dining room to the gorgeous oak panelled room used for pre dinner drinks ??? This will I am sure enhance the dining experience and create more return custom.
The food is very pleasant and at times shows utter brilliance, it also suffers from some let downs when the head chef has taken his eye off the ball. Mains were excellent but lacking in flavor whilst amuse bouche, canapes were superb. General house staff were excellent in standard of service if a little busy.
