just stayed in the lyrath hotel with my wife and son. what an amazing experience. the place is beautiful. the staff is amazing very helpful and caring. the food is great. would highly recommend this hotel. a good 10 out of 10.
Its Ok. The house and staff are nice but everything else lacks the premium feel.. Beds arent the best, the restaurant food quality is just ok for the price charged..
My husband and I were guests at a wedding in Lyrath Hotel on Friday 14th Febuary this year. On entering the hotel ,it was such a surprise ,it had the wow factor. But what a disappointment the rest of the evening was.All the guests were very hungry as you can imagine most only had breakfast .The staff went around with trays of little finger food at around 4 o'clock .Now we were told dinner would be at 5.30 which really was 6.30 and what a lode of rubbish that was,we had a choice of Beef or Salmon ! the Beef was so though it was hard to chew and measly few potatoes and veg we got between 10 people leave a lot to be desired ,the plates were cold the soup of what we believed to be leek and potato tasted like nothing.there was no taste of the gravy of the veg anything. We were very disappointed with the meal and there is a lot the kitchen staff could do to improve the meals for gusts ,especially at wedding party's. I would not recommend this hotel to any engaged couple . thanking you ... Elizabeth Hennessy
We have been to the Lyrath on many occasions over the past 7 yrs. We take a weekend break at least once every year and have been to the Lyrath ALL of the time.We have been there twice this year already once in Feb and once in May with our 7yr old and 4yr old, it has always been our special place as a break away from the children but decided we would share it with them for the first time! they both loved it, they got special treatment from all staff members, Had lots of activities and space to occupy theem and they cannot wait until they are allowed to go back! We have booked to go back on our own again in October. Setting and hotel are beautiful, a very relaxing hotel. Staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. We didn't use the SPA on our visit with the children but have done on all previous visits, it is fabulous everything you would expect from an award winning SPA. Always eat at the hotel, food is fabulous. We have always recommended The Lyrath to family and friends as we have always been looked after to the highest of standards by friendly, happy professional staff. Cant wait for October Paul & Glenda
Found this to be a lovely luxury hotel in a quiet surround located just outside Kilkenny town. Food, service & room were all great. The grounds are lovely also for a nice walk.
