Sweetwater Inn and Spa

We couldn't have had a better weekend. The Redwood Cabin was absolutely lovely; both beautiful and cozy. We loved the hot tub, use of the kitchen, and the wonderfully comfortable bed. We'll definitely be back!
Had a fine experience here. Nothing spectacular. We had a nice room (Rivergate) with a fireplace and little couch. I was also surprised that they had a ton of cable channels but a *tiny* flat screen TV. I wasn't expecting any cable channels, but this actually came in handy because we had really bad weather one day and just wanted to sit in front of the fire reading and watching the NFL playoffs. Did one evening in the private hot tub was great---a little pricey (the prices on the website are for one person each so for 2 it was $30 for 30 minutes in the hot tub). The communal hot tub was not our scene---truly clothing optional and full of people! Great, if you don't mind that. Everything in the city of Mendocino is so close because the town is only a few blocks so this location didn't have a benefit over any other ones (close to many other B&B's). All in all--had an OK stay, I probably wouldn't stay here again. It didn't come with breakfast or wasn't increasingly charming, if it had a better price than maybe I would, but I'd rather try one of the other homey options (with breakfast) in Mendocino.
A perfect place! The ambiance, the room, the staff - all just right for us. We stayed during a bike tour down the coast and could not have found a better place to capture the spirit on Mendocino. The water tower room is the way to go!
I love this place. I have been going up to Mendocino for the last 20 years and every time we went up to Mendocino, we went to the Sweet Water to use the hot tub or to get massages. It's an institution here. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to relax and recharge.
I have stayed here a number of times over the years. Sweetwater holds true to the legacy of Mendocino. Rooms are elegant and clean, and my wife and I love the spa on those foggy Mendocino evenings. They are dog friendly too!
