Elevation Hotel & Spa
Reviews
I purchased a stay through groupon for my daughter and her friend. Everything about the resort and fees were noted including parking and resort fees. I spoke with Sherry from the resort before they were to go in December 2014 and she gave me wonderful advice about skiing lessons and their facility. The girls got checked in and they have both said what a great time they had and everyone was so nice to them. They also said they had a wonderful room. I did have a problem trying to book skiing lessons and lift tickets on line, but no problem, Jane took care of everything for them and also made a suggestion on how they could save some money. They loved their stay and I felt comfortable after speaking with Sherry and that she related to any concerns I had so the girls could have the best time possible and be safe. The girls are already making plans for a summer visit but loved the winter stay. Wonderful experience for them!
I have visited this place during ski season & summer season and at both times I throughly enjoyed the place. The views from the hotel are amazing. The staff is real friendly, very helpful and provided great tips for activities in the area. The food at the restaurant was nice This is by far the best hotel on the mountain.
Talk about hidden fees. I came for a week and was charged over $240 in hidden fees in addition to the $1,000 bucks that I paid for the reservation. After the first night I was here I tried to cancel the remainder of my visit for a hand full of reasons, and was told I would of had to have given 72 hours notice. Talk about greed. I would have rather paid a percentage of the remaining days reservations or something along those lines, over being stuck in this F****** place having to give them any more of my hard earned money. It really makes a person feel trapped, when you are forced to pay another 5 days at an artificially inflated rate for a hotel that you absolutely despise being in. The room wasn't clean. Hair clumps in the shower, dirty dishes, the bathroom sink had shaving cream or something all over the back of it and the knobs, there was mold on the shower curtain and stains on the comforter. The inside hot tub was nasty with black foam and hair all over it. The outside hot tub has some chemical in it that burned my eyes and sinuses and left my lungs stinging the next day on the slopes. Definitely avoid the pool and hot tubs due to their poor maintenance. They obviously haven't been cleaned in a week or so, even though you are forced to pay 20 bucks a night for the "PRIVILEGE" of using it. I talked to the front desk and they pretty much made me feel disposable and trapped. This place is greedy to the max. All of the staff here is super rude and useless, except for the bell hops who were the only decent staff we ran into the week I was forced to stay here. If you have more than 72 hours until your reservation I recommend you cancel and go somewhere else. You will be glad you did.
Will never go back here again and I definitely do NOT suggest to anyone to stay here. Upon making my reservation I didn't realize I had to pay for parking my car $20 a night (reading another review I'm glad I didn't choose valet parking). I realize limited space can be a factor, but I call you on that when I have stayed at plenty of resorts who offer free parking at their hotels when the space to park is MUCH SMALLER. I called the front desk to find anywhere in the resort that there is free parking (because the hotel price was already gauging enough) but was told that there is no where to park my car for the night for free however when I requested to cancel my reservation I was put on indefinite hold. I WAS PUT ON INDEFINITE HOLD BECAUSE I REALLY CANNOT AFFORD YOUR PARKING FEE AND STILL BE ABLE TO FULL ENJOY THE VACATION. I love the customer service already, spot on (hint the sarcasm). I decide to make the trip anyway because I need to get away. I was met with really nice bellhops, they are sweet and really informative about the area and cool places to hang out. I was also told that the ski valet was complimentary as he took our boards but then was told at the front desk checking in that it was all clumped into some $20 fee that I was NEVER AWARE OF TO BEGIN WITH. By the way, although the fee is one fee they give you a list of the amenities and what they are "suppose" to be worth. I understand that these things cost you but include them in the price of the hotel like every single resort I have stayed at thus far in my life, rather than adding a forced fee that you do not disclose to me until I get there. That even further sets back and limits the things I can do on this trip, so I am doing the opposite of thanking you. I was planning on going snowmobiling because the snow is not great this time of year on the hill, however now due to your hidden fees and not allowing me to cancel the remainder of my reservation when I really am not happy with this place I have a lot of free time to write you a ridiculously long review. I am not finished yet either. Let's begin by how really poor the design of the building is has it does a minimal job to me I think showing you the surrounding area. Yet they feel they deserve to gauge you financially even though there is nothing redeeming about this place to compensate the poor views. One public fireplace which is double sided through to a view of the front desk. Beautiful watching others expressing annoyance by their rooms while trying to relax by the only indoor fireplace not in the restaurant. This place is kind of like a horseshoe so the majority of the rooms have the great privilege of watching each other has there doesn't appear to be any decent view from most of the hotel. I would have paid a fee to cancel the rest of my reservation has I would have had more fun finding some place else to stay since the season hasn't really picked up yet, but you want to squeeze my wallet like an orange. Do not plan to stay here unless you have a large budget to make up for the large sum of money they will want from you during your stay.
Lovely hotel, very clean and well maintained. Went last summer and just came back at the start of ski season. Had a great time. Worth every penny.
