It wasn't a big chain place that I was used to going. Well after arriving and talking with Marie during my massage, it all made sense. This is a small, personalized massage business. The focus here is the quality of the massage, not the ferns and flashyness of the chains. I'll have to say, my massage ranks up there with the best I've received. And from a price/value perspective, it blows everything away. Just my two cents.
My mother always told me never to judge a book by its cover, and that big things come in small packages. What baffles me is the people who are writing poor reviews are expecting total luxury when they bought a massage off Half Off Depot. Let's use some common sense: Yes, it is a very intimate (i.e. small) place, but the whole point of a massage is to close your eyes and take yourself elsewhere. Marie did an excellent job doing what a massage therapist should do: Massage! Unfortunately, the big-chain spas diminish the importance of supporting smaller businesses--do our community a favor by forgoing the Spa Sydells of this world and enjoying the exact same service from a friendly neighbor. I enjoyed it!
I purchased a Swedish massage from Living Social online. I have had many, many massages over the years in several countries. I was shocked at the disorder in the massage area right away. I was shown to a restroom up a flight of stairs. The stair steps are certainly not up to building codes. The restroom was filthy!!! THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FIRST CLUE! As I took off my shoes in the massage room I noticed debris on my feet. I was still trying to have an open mind. But when the bed sheets were dirty with sunflower seeds and other grime I redressed to leave. Marie said she would change the sheets for me if I wanted. NO THANK YOU!!! I will be contacting the Georgia Board of Health. BEWARE of this dive
Just ok. I went to specifically get some work on my lower back, as I have had back issues for a long time. While the overall massage was good (especially on my shoulders), she didn't even touch my lower back. I think some massage therapists are afraid to truly massage the low back, and don't go low enough (same thing with the legs, and therefore don't get the complete muscle). I know a lot about massage, and everything is connected. If you're afraid to touch the glute muscle/hips, you're not giving a complete massage. Its not sexual. Its an area affected by low back problems. To me, it felt like half of a massage.
The best massage ever!!! I wish I could give more than five stars!!! Totally worth your time and money! I left feeling so relaxed and ready to face the day! Thank you, Thank you Thank you. I will be back!
