The Springs
Reviews
The Good: Very clean, friendly staff, really nice job on the remodel and bathrooms, great views and a very large main pool. The steam room was a really nice touch as well. If this were a gym it would get 4 stars, but it isn't it is a hot spring, retreat and cafe? The Bad: The first thing I noticed is you are not allowed to bring in ANYTHING (food or beverage) from outside. Most Idaho people I know like to enjoy some food and beverage while they relax and soak. At $7 for 3-4 oz. of wine it is hard to relax for long, and unless you are a rabbit feeding on salad, humas and nuts you are going to be pretty hungry after 2 hours of driving and 2 hours of soaking. They do have (1) very old picnic bench you can go eat your own food and beverage at but you must leave the resort area wet and cold to walk about 100 yards in the cold to sit there. Next there is the HOT spring , main pool was about 98-99 degrees to cold to do anything for me and the HOT tub was only about 101 and fairly crowed as it is small and the only HOTish water there. After soaking they do have showers which I thought was a great touch to wash off the minerals after soaking. Unfortunately the shower shares the same mineral water as the pool so rinsing off was pointless. Also to eat you must leave the pool area and dine in a tent rather than having separate tables away from the pool area. They do give a $3 discount if you leave with-in 2 hours (we both gladly took them up on that offer. This is without a doubt the nicest, cleanest springs I have been to in Southern Idaho (and I have been to them all) however without HOT water, better food and the ability to bring in your own bottle of wine (in a plastic container of course) I just can't see justifying the cost of $16 per person. I would recommend staying with some of the more rustic places. Note to owner: a hamburger, hot dog and a limit on alcohol entry would go ALONG way to improving the springs, once you get the pool HOT.
A friend and I went there in late April 2013 shortly after they reopened. It was a very relaxing experience, and we both had a wonderful time. Their pool was awesome, as were the sauna, hot tub, showers, and amenities. I would recommend this spa-experience to anyone who appreciates a natural outdoor setting. If I'm ever lucky enough to pass through the area again, I will definitely pass through your doors again!
There's nowhere in Idaho like it!!!! Although its seems more crowded then it used to be, we still try to go almost every week. Its our families favorite spot.
Tremendous customer service, sparkling clean in every way and about THE best way to spend some time outdoors relaxing. I live nearby and was so happy to see The Springs open; something those of us in Boise county can be proud of and it's close to us, so we can visit often. One evening I was there with 6 best friends from Wilderness Ranch and it was a chilly, drizzling evening. Perfect for floating in the warm pool, drinking some wine and enjoying friends and the beautiful sights and sounds of Idaho. The temp of the water was perfect and we were sad to leave at the end of the evening. I highly recommend The Springs for an out of the ordinary way to spend a day or an evening!
Food is great. Staff is great. I highly recommend going.
