Cole Stevens Salon

I Love this Salon, The Customer Service is Outstanding at the Greenbelt location. The Stylist are professional, and you are NOT waiting to all day. I'm in and out within 2 hours depending on the services I need. I highly recommend this Salon to anyone who needs Natural Hair Care. Kudos to my Stylist Blake for her Outstanding talents. When I am early for my appointments, someone comes to assist me and preps me with washing my hair. I love the idea of being servied by the stylist from beginning to end, AWESOME!!! The stylist Camille is very friendly and knows alot about hair. If Blake is not available, I would love to have her style my hair, one day. When its busy, and the Salon is full, someone is always asking, are you ok, and would you like a beverage. My hair is so soft and bouncy, people think I have a weave. I could go on and on about how SATISFIED I am!! I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
This salon rarely disappoints me. Cole Stevens Salon is the ONLY salon I go to; its very recommended.
This salon was recommended to me, but this was my first and last appointment at this salon. I am so disappointed in my experience. My appointment was at noon on 6/1/2013 at the Greenbelt Salon; however, I sat in the lobby for 30 minutes until someone finally said that the stylist, MeMe would be with me shortly. She finally washed my hair at 12:50 p.m. while another client she was serving was under the dryer. She barely washed my hair. She began flat twisting my hair and I had to get out of the chair for her to finish another client's hair, which caused my hair to be delayed again. I informed MeMe that I was in a wedding and wanted an elegant style because my gown was off the shoulders. My hair looked as if an amateur styled my hair. She attempted to add synthetic hair the french roll and the slanted tuck in the front of my hair, which was not covered by my hair and it could seen. Also, my twists looked as if they were done three weeks ago. To my dismay she had the audacity to charge $125.00 for this hair style, which should have been $15.00 at the most. I looked like a cross between Gumby and Bobby Brown. My scalp has been irritated since my appointment due to the supplies that she used. When I paid for my hair, I made my dissatisfaction known and requested that the manager, Nicole, contact me. I attempted to contact Nicole on Monday and was told that she was in a meeting. I did leave another messgae. To my dismay, she has yet to reach out to me to address my concerns. As a result, I would not recommend this salon to anyone due to poor customer service, poor scheduling, satisfaction was not guaranteed, and lack of follow-up. Needless to say, was my first and last appointment at this salon. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO ANYONE.
This is by far the best salon I have ever been too. During my relaxer days I was weekly salon client for years (wasting hundreds are dollars per month in attempts to keep my hair healthy). Unfortunately all my past stylist did not have my hair's best interest in mind and in turn I was forced to go natural. I eventually lost trust in hair stylist and took the challenge of doing my own hair. I stayed away from salons for about two years on my natural journal but it got to a point where I could no longer tame my natural hair. I found Cole Stevens online and I must say I love this place. I am currently in grad school in Orlando but make it a priority to get my ends trimmed and treatment every 6 months when I come home. Rachel is an amazing talented stylist who listens and does wonders with a round brush and a flat iron. I would highly recommend her and look forward to moving back to the DMV so that I can make her my permanent stylist.
When it comes to the care of natural hair, I would give the salon 5 stars but my rating is so low due to my experience getting a weave. Upon my consultation I was quoted a price of $400 for the sowing in of the weave and the cost of the hair as no more than $180. I came in with the expectation of paying $580, knowing it was pricey but because of how well my natural hair had been managed, i figured the weave must be top notch. After the hair had been sown in imagine my surprise as I got a bill for $750! As could be imagined I was extremely shocked as Renee the stylist told me that since our consultation 2 weeks ago, the hair was in high demand and thus the price had gone up. Had i been told this i would have never gotten the weave. What makes this bad is the blatant price switch after the service had been rendered. The front desk knocked off $50 from the price saying that the hydration would be free as the price had significantly jumped from what I had been quoted and he must have felt bad for my situation. Since the hair had already been sown on, and it was late in the day, I paid the price knowing I would never go back. Such a shame as I thought I found the right salon for me.
