Always an AMAZING experience at Design 1 Grandville. Feels like a cozy house every time I go. :)

I've had massages, manicures and pedicures. I have enjoyed the experience and appreciated the results. I can endorse this salon whole-heartedly. My technicians have been timely and the counter help is friendly.

I recently had a scheduled appointment with Irene for the Aura make-up event. I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled time & checked in. I proceeded to wait for 30 minutes at which time I went up to the desk to tell them I was on a time limit. They said they would check where she was ( keep in mind both girls were well aware I was waiting & standing behind the desk - not busy - the entire time ). Irene then came out. She did not apologize - simply stated that we would have to do the very minimum because she had another appointment after me. She was very rushed, reminding me constantly that my time had to be cut short. I ended up purchasing exactly what I went in for and none of the additional products because she honestly didn't show me anything I didn't already do. I have had this service before & also had Irene before and been very pleased. Not sure what happened this time but very disappointed with the service.

I've enjoyed several signature pedicures over the past four years with small groups of friends and family. It's a treat to spend time together as there are plenty of heated massage chairs in a large area. Or, try the private room for two--which would also be fun for a husband and wife. After the pedicure you can sit in a fireside waiting area with snacks and drinks to relax a bit. The staff is friendly and the spa is a high-class environment.

This was my second time at this salon. A few years ago I had a massage done here that was good, but cut short by 5-10 minutes. My husband surprised me with a massage appt for my birthday. I wouldn't have chosen to go here again, but I figured my last visit might have been a fluke, so I decided to give it another shot, especially considering it was with a different person. It was supposed to be a 50 minute massage. I looked at my clock a few minutes before the massage began and as soon as the massage ended. Only 40 minutes had passed and that includes the time I waited for her to come into the room. I asked the manager about this and she said that it wasn't normal and apologized. She gave me 15% off and a free sugar scrub upgrade for my next massage, but I definitely won't be back or recommend this place to anyone.
