Had a fantastic experience this weekend at Go Spa Girl. Went to St Louis to celebrate my friend Jessie's birthday. Girls did a spa day. Can't say enough about the Lomi Lomi massage. Usually I have a hard time relaxing, but Sam the massage therapist not only gave me a great massage, but taught me a relaxation technique I can use from now on. My facial was really good as well. Loved the way Teresa explained all the product she used during my facial. If you want a relaxing experience, I recommend this spa.
My daughter and her brides maides went to Go Spa this past weekend. The arrangments had to beplanned weeks in advance and we had to give cash for a gift card for the brides services if we wanted to pay for her. I thought at the time it was because we all had to pay 20 percent gratuity and her nail tech/massage therapist wouldn't otherwise get that. Later as she checked out they acted suprised when my daughter handed them her gift card. "You want to use this today"? Wow! Also, they acted like they didn't know how to process a gift card, make change and they also asked if we wanted to add a tip? Over the 20 percent wow! It's such a cute idea for a medium level spa and cute place but you have to totally upgrade just to get a good service. We had 10 girls and nobody was happy. I was gouged and cut by my nail lady. "I said, "all I want is for you to bevel my corners on my nails and I'll be happy"? The corners wern't cut at all and my feet were just has dry and cracked as when I arrived. I was not happy at all. It's ashame because the place is cute. They don't advertise the 20 percent gratuity on their website either so be careful. You would think they would try harder to earn it but they don't. Very poor staff. All they want to do is nickel and dime you
I was very disappointed in my experience with Go! Spa today. I will start out on a positive note and say that I had a girl doing my pedicure was very sweet and personable and she is the why I gave even one star. I am at the end of my pregnancy and for Christmas my husband wanted to get me a pedicure and foot massage, so I looked up go! Spa and made a reservation for their mommy-to-be pedicure. Their website claims this is an hour long service with a customized foot and leg massage. Well my appointment was for 1:50 and I arrived 10 minutes early, however I wasn't seated and the pedicure didn't start until 2:00, and then it ended at 2:45!!! So my 60 minute service was only 45 minutes long! Not only that but unless they consider putting lotion on your feet and lower legs as a "customized massage" that part was completely skipped. But there was no massage aspect at any part of the service. When I went to pay I told them my 60 min service was only 45 min and I wasn't paying the full price for something I didn't fully receive, so the girl offered to know off $5..... $5 really??? Do the math! If it's $60 for a 60 min service and it's short by 15 min, shouldn't that be closer to $15!?!? Plus the fact I did not even get the massage which was 50% of the reason I went in the first place. I will not be returning to this spa and do not recommend it. And I'm really bummed my Christmas present and probably last spa day before my baby arrives was wasted on this experience.
Flavor Book Club traveled to St. Louis from Memphis (June 23, 2012) for our annual sisterhood retreat. Since we weren't local our point of contact was Abby. She did a great job arranging our group gathering. Once we arrived at GoSpa, we were promptly taken care of by the staff. It was eight of us and everyone was finished at the time stated so we could continue with the rest of our itinerary for the day. All of the massages were great and no one in the group had any complaints. Another thing I liked about GoSpa is the personal follow-up after we returned home. I highly recommend GoSpa.
Go Spa has always been one of my most favorite places in Saint Louis. Joey, the owner is a wonderful person and she and all her employees always make you feel special. Her latest addition, is a wonderful massage therapist named Samuel and I cannot rave enough about him. I had an hour massage last week to test him out. I have a number of issues with back, shoulders etc. After this massage I felt better than I have in ages. It was such a phenomenal massage that when I left I booked another one for 1 hour and 45 minutes for this weekend. I am counting down the days until I get to go again! I highly recommend trying Samuel the first chance you get!
