Salon Ventures
Reviews
**This review is for the Polished Boutique Nail Salon *within* the Salon Ventures.** Couldn't tell you how the service was, as I never got that far. Staff was rude and misleading. If you choose to go, here's the low-down. I purchased a Groupon and followed the instructions listed. It specifically said an appointment was necessary and named M. G. I left a message twice before receiving a return call and actually getting an appointment scheduled. When I spoke to M on the phone, she expressed confusion as to why her name was mentioned because, as she stated, she and her associates are the only ones there. She made my appointment for a Saturday at 1:30pm. I showed up at my appointment on time, entering the building and taking a seat in the waiting area just inside. There was no one there to sign me in, and no clear indication of what to do. The building said Salon Ventures on the front, and inside were lots of rooms with hair stylists working within. I sat for twenty minutes and watched as other customers were sought out by employees. At the end of this time, I tired of waiting and began to wander the building looking for someone who could help me. I asked an employee if there was someone named M there and she showed me to the room at the very back of the building. M asked if she could help me, and I replied that I had an appointment but no one had told me with whom. I gave my name and another woman spoke up that the appointment had been with her, but that it was for 1:30. I told her that I had been there on time, but had been waiting twenty minutes in the waiting area. She informed me that I should have come back to their “suite” (number 9, as indicated by a little card by the door) when I first arrived and that if I had read the Groupon, I would have known that. There was, she said, a big map when you first came in that said to come to your “suite”. There are apparently 38 businesses within the Salon Ventures building, not just M and her associates as I was at first told. She could not continue my appointment today, and I would need to reschedule. This was frustrating, as I have two children and need to arrange childcare in order to take time for appointments like this. On my way out, I looked for the “big map”. It is to the right of the waiting room. By the time you get that far in and realize there’s no one signing you in, it’s already out of view. But she was right—there was a little sticky note that said “Ck in w/your station”. So obviously intended for folks who’ve never been before. It couldn’t possibly be a note to anyone else. After I left, I reviewed my groupon voucher. I wish I’d pulled it out while still there. It says nothing about “suite 9”, except in the address. M did not inform me of these extra instructions on the phone, and I have never before encountered a business run this way. I am very unhappy at the way I was treated, as though any idiot should have known what I did not.
