Jakay's Salon & Day Spa
Reviews
Today I went here for a massage. I loved the massage by Ryan - extremely professional..very good at his job.. tailored the experience to what I wanted. I've had probably close to 50 massages and todays experience was almost, if not, the best experience i've ever had. However, some other factors of my visit left room for improvement. The salon seemed pretty small and crowded. The receptionist was busy getting food delivered, dishing it out to the staff, taking money, answering phone calls, sitting just out of view- definitely had to wait longer then expected for assistance. Then my card had to be ran twice because the phones interfered with their card system. While I was getting a massage I could hear staff coming & going & talking loudly - so it wasn't truly peaceful. Were it not for Ryan I may not try this place again, but he really was amazing!
I am 27 years old and have literally been going to Jakay's since I was 10. I go there for EVERYTHING, hair, nails, waxing, massage, facials....everything. I love the staff there, they are super nice and always professional. I would recommend Jakay's to ANYONE. These bad reviews must be one offs or crabby people because I have NEVER had a bad experience in the 17 years I have been going there!
REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE, START TO FINiSH!!! Don't go here! I only wish I'd had the foresight to read the reviews first. I made an appt. and was kept waiting for awhile. No biggie. But the highlights I had done were absolutely dreadful. I saw Kayla and asked for what I thought were to be a few subtle highlights. I left with a headfull of rainbow colored mismatched disaster! She did not explain what she was doing and just proceeded to take it upon herself. Very unprofessional attitude and she reeked of ciggerette smoke. I left sick to my stomach and called the manager to complain. The girl who answered said she'd relay the message and have the owner call me. So far I have NOT HEARD BACK!
Greedy and lacks integrity! On my first visit ever to Jakay's I tried to use a gift certificate. I actually had $110 in gift certificates but they were expired (greater than one year). They refused to honor them for a measley manicure. I don't believe in Jakay's business ethics, and I will never go back. Poor form for a business owner!! To add, my two teenage girls got their manis and pedis done this past Wednesday, also for the first time at Jakay's. It is Friday today, and they are all chipped. So you can add that the quality is poor too!
I am getting married in less then a month. I went in and all I wanted was a trim and bangs. I brought pictures of the bangs and I told her that I wanted 1/4 of an inch cut from my hair at the most. I walked out with face framing layers! I guess those are my bangs??!! And my trim is un-even and she took about an inch off. Now I have to go and have someone re-cut my hair, and I'm not sure if my hair will be able to be put up for the wedding. All I wanted was a trim and bangs, I can't believe the damage that she did. While she was very sweet, she was very unexperienced and didn't listen ot look at anything I brought. This was not a hard cut, I would not reccomend anyone to go there.
