First, be sure to ask which side of the motel the big dog barks! There is a large dog right outside the motel which barked and barked and barked. I did not complain about that because they were already quite upset that I wanted my sheets washed each day - even when I took them off & made the bed myself. (menopause - hot flashes) I was quite sick but the maid even argued back with my husband about it. Unbelievable. Anita, the manager, said that they only changed the sheets once a week (for $60 a night.) No one would vacuum until I put cash on the end of the bed with a note to please vacuum. Finally I (really!) crumbled a saltine cracker all over, left a cash tip with another note asked for my sheets to be replaced & for them to vacuum, & my husband moved the arm chair and my bed side stand out of their way himself. But the worst part was, I had reserved the room until Oct 20 & given my credit card. However, hunting season began and Dakota Lodge upped the charge to $80 a night. I still had more than a week reserved. Anita told me the day after the maid was so rude to my husband that they had made a mistake and I needed to be out on Friday - the very day hunting season started and why rent a room for $60 when you can get $80? It wasn't worth calling our lawyer and also, when you are ill, you don't have the energy to "fight back." And I, personally, would never stay at a motel where I knew the staff resented me - who knows how bad they could make it. Looking back, maybe that's why that last week was so terrible~if it was bad enough, maybe I'd leave early and the manager wouldn't have to make up the "Oh, we made a mistake & you have to leave!" If you stay here, be sure to get a PAPER confirmation of the days you have reserved. Well, they made $20 extra each night that week, and that's the important thing.. TIPS: Ask which side the large dog which barks all the time is on; you'll be sorry if you don't. GET A PAPER RECEIPT of the days you have registered for, because if they can get more money, you'll be booted to the curb. Trisha F

Very nice place to stay ! The comp.. breakfast was awesome ! Would give 5 stars but bed was a little hard .

Agree with previous reviews. Nice rooms, good breakfast, hot tub/pool is sweet, staff friendly.
