Summer Creek Inn & Spa
Reviews
This was the 3rd time we have stayed at the Summer Creek Inn. We choose B&Bs or Boutique Inns whenever we travel...none has surpassed The Summer Creek Inn. The Inn is immaculate...pristine as my husband would say! It is tastefully decorated & modern...but located in the country...the grounds are gorgeous & don't be surprised to see a few deer or turkeys at different times of the day. The location is ideal between Rapid City and Hill City. The rooms are gorgeous, the linens and amenities are wonderful. You won't find more wonderful Inn Keepers than Daniel and Nancy...they are helpful with directions, restaurant ideas and attractions...plus they are fun, friendly and great cooks. Definitely order breakfast! We are upping our trips to the Black Hills to twice a year so we can stay at this Inn. They have a billards room, theater room with extensive DVD collection which you can watch on the big screen or back in the privacy of your room. Some of the rooms have hot tubs and there is a common hot tub located off the multiple patio areas in the back by the water fall. Amazaing Place....Can't wait to go back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summer Creek. It was a great way to spend our 18th Anniversary....taking a little break from life and kiddos to focus on each other. The facility is beautiful, inside and out.....and the owners were very outgoing and friendly. We will definitely recommend (already have) to our friends, and hope to return in the near future.
The Summer Creek Inn in Rapid City was the highlight of my wife and I's honeymoon. The Summer Creek Inn isn't simply a stuffy historic home, it is a marvelous feat of architecture nestled in the Black Hills. Firstly, it is wonderfully situated, almost an even distance of about 20 minutes from all of the major attractions in the area. Jessica and I arrived at Summer Creek Inn, and were originally booked with one of their more economy suites. After a good initial conversation with ever pleasant and eager to please Nancy, we were upgraded to one of their premiere suites, as a wedding gift! Our room (Suite 5) featured a chandelier, state of the art hot tub, 2 murals, a fireplace, a personal (and dumbfoundingly large) patio , fireplace, large bathroom, and a television. The room was exquisite, and the trip wouldn't have been the same without this booking. Just around the corner is a luxury home theater with 16 spacious recliners. Regretfully, we weren't able to use this, but if you were to spend an afternoon/evening at the lodge, it would be quite an experience. The breakfast was incredible! I'm not a breakfast person, but I was there and salivating each morning at 8:30am. Afterwards, Dave gives all guests a "map class," where he helps give you the best route (complete with other recommendations) to wherever you want to go. Give Dan and Nancy a call. Just beware, this will undoubtedly become the highlight of your trip to or through the Black Hills!
Summer Creek Inn is one of the finest as far as lodging near Rapid City and Mount Rushmore. Nancy and Dan are gracious hosts. They spent time making sure we had plans, suggested things to do in the area and told a story or two that had us laughing. The rooms are modern, large and perfect. They are very clean. The towels are soft. The breakfasts were amazing and portions will keep you full. If you have time we really enjoyed hiking to Harney Peak which is about a 20 minute drive. South Dakota built a fire lookout in the 20s and as you get to the top you can go in it. You can see all around for miles. It was breathtaking and a fun ~8 mile round trip hike, good for all ages.
We had a wonderful experience at this B&B. Dan and Nancy make you feel right at home, the room was spa-like and very comfortable. The food was incredible and the location was great. We were given last minute travel tips if needed. We would definitly love to return again if we are in the area.
