Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa

We went to the Thanksgiving dinner buffer, which including the embedded gratuity charge, came out to be over $70/person. The food was okay, but nothing was hot, the staff seemed annoyed to be there, and the lavishly displayed dessert tables offered mediocre desserts. The gratuity apparently was to cover a minimum-wage employee to visit our table 2 or 3 times to clear dishes. What a royal waste of time, money, and space in my stomach.
Absolutely fantastic! I could happily live there. The beds were SOOOO comfortable, I didn't want to leave the room....until I left the room. The place is gorgeous, the food is unparalleled, the staff provides the highest quality of service imaginable and there are tons of things to do.
As a Native Texan this is the furthest thing away from Texas hospitality..I sponsor a Car club that attends here. On my first attempt they would not even allow me to stay with my group even being a sponsor for that group. I told myself I would never attend again. I decided to give it another shot a few years later. The service in the hotel area is very quality. The food is chili's quality and the service in the restaurant is lacking. That pretty much sums it up. If the price was matched to the quality of food and service then I would have no complaints.
I cannot say enough nice things about this resort! It is like its own little world...especially when you drive down the longest driveway EVER! You will think you've entered some sort of Californian hideaway resort with a Texas twist! The grounds are just absolutely GORGEOUS! You would never guess you are in Bastrop, TX?!! The staff are so professional and polite and the resort itself is just gorgeous from the lobby to the facilities to the actual rooms! They also have micro horses and actual longhorns!!! I will definitely be returning to experience the infinite amenities this amazing place has to offer again! It is like a fancy "staycation" if you are in the Austin or Central TX area.
We did a "girls weekend" at Lost Pines and it was fantastic! It is the perfect weekend getaway for those of us who occasionally need a break from Dallas. From the front desk to the spa to housekeeping, every staff member we ran into was the epitome of gracious Southern hospitality. We loved it so much that we are going to be doing a family trip this fall! Can't wait to go back!
