Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa
Reviews
The hotel and all its amenities are fantastic. The staff was awesome. The downside was the cost of parking was kind of outrageous. I ended up parking down the street at the casino and walking two blocks to get my car and it was 13 degrees outside. But I refuse to pay 30 to 40 dollars a night for a parking space. For me that's an acceptable in any city. I have to say I love the hotel and the view but I don't think I will visit here again due to the price gouging. The breakfast buffet for two was $46. For a family of 4 that's quite an expensive breakfast. The hotel as a value gets an D. For customer service in the hotel, restaurant, and street service. I give them an A plus.
I booked a last minute reservation for this hotel (88350864). Unfortunately I became ill and cancelled the very next day (51649136)). When I got the reservation I just noted I had a reservation & didn't read all the way down. There is a 3 day penalty for cancellations. I only made 2 days not 3 - I cancelled the day after I made the reservation. Now I am out $258. Marriott is right I did not read to the bottom of the reservation confirmation. I will not be staying at a Marriot in the future. Beware if you fall ill, funeral etc. inside the 3 days - you will pay the price. Mary
Parking situation is HORRIBLE!!! Location and Falls view is nice, but parking situation sucks!!! Room for that price is ok. Once we got a car (after 25 mins wait) it was all covered in snow! it was -4 F that morning outside! Oh, and they will charge you $33 for parking!!! NO free Wi-Fi and it's 2015 already! Next time I will def look for a hotel with inside parking, especially in winter.
The hotel was "okay" but for the money, we were expecting more. We visited the hotel at the end of December. When we arrived at the valet, they had so many cars backed up in the valet section that you had to block the street while we waited to pull in. They need more people on staff to move the cars quickly, so people arriving have some place to go When we checked in the lady was friendly and provided us with the information we needed to know. We booked a rather nice room with a jacuzzi, living room and a view of the falls. While the room was nice (minus a big loooong black hair in the bathroom sink), it is quite dated compared to other hotels. Also, one light didn't work (at the door) and the fire place didn't get hot. The view however, was absolutely amazing and we spent a lot of time in our "living room" looking out the window. A couple other "cons" we experienced: Wifi is not included. It's the 21st century and I really cannot understand why hotels do not have complimentary wifi - especially when paying $250 for 1 night. Also, we decided to order a pizza from down the street and they charged us for a local call. Not sure why, when local calls don't cost the hotel anything. We would probably return because of the view and the convenience of their location, but we would definitely look at other hotels first.
Upon arriving at the hotel around 4pm we were met with a huge line of cars waiting to park by the valets. After 15 min. we finally were able to enter the hotel which we were met with another line to check in. Fortunately we didn't have to wait too long. We had 2 rooms side by side with fallsview on the 9th floor one had a king bed and the other 2 double beds. We first enter the one with the 2 doubles and immediately saw how small and dated it was. Our 4 adult girls ran to the window and checked out the awesome view in front of them. My wife and I went next door to check our room and once we opened the door we were greeted with this horrible offensive musty smell. Our room looked like something out of a 1970's motel in the middle of a desert but again the view was awesome. We noticed that the reason for the smell was that the AC was off. Once we turned it on and also turned on the bathrooom vents the smell had dissipated. We dropped our bags and went to the falls for a fun day doing activities. After a fun day and great dinner we came back to our rooms and notice that it was even more depressing looking than before. With all the lights on we were able to see how old and dirty everything was. The bathroom floors looked like it was never mopped, bottom of the shower door had black mold on it, whirlpool tub had genital hairs in it and the soap on the bathroom sink was used. The sleeping area was just as worse. Our bed had a thin mattress that felt like it had piece of board in it and pillows were just dead. The nightstand on my side had a huge booger left on the side by another guest. The furniture all looked like they were bought in a garage sale. On top of all this there were quite a few insects in the hall and in our room. The next day the girls told us how disgusting and dirty their room was. The all slept in their ponchos and decided not to take a shower. All in all just totally gross. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Avoid at all cost. You can get the same view at other hotels nearby.
