Please see all information before enrolling. I attended for only 4 months and could not continue due to personal reasons and not only do I have to pay 3345.00 for the student loan that they kept but an additional 6700.00 for attending. I am very displeased that they are charging so much for attending such short period of time. Also as a previous student be weary of getting any services done they are not very hygienic and let you do a service on someone with out proper supervision and or dirty tools. I got several services and got an infection on a nail lost an eyebrow while waxing and got my hair burnt while getting it blow dried. lol and still have to pay a massive amount of money with out a license to speak off. Please if you are young and think this might not be for you consult it very well before taking this massive step. Unfortunately they where quick to sign me up and I didn't do proper investigation on this matter and now I am paying for it greatly... :(
I was a student at BSA for under a montth. I only speak english and i was placed in a bilingual class. (70% spoke little to no english) therefor the teacher had to translate everything she said. And alot of times i was left confused..this school is VERY unorginized!! and just last week one of the students was laying of a facial bed, and it broke and she injured her neck.. also there was a need to install security cameras.. hmm.. you can make your own conclusion on that one. This school is wayyy overrated..and wayyy to expensive.. financial aid only covers less than half, leaving you to pay up to $9,000..and if u do decide to withdrawell, you'll have to pay up to $2,000 in supplies, when your the one who has to purchas half the stuff..( towels, sheets, etc.) NOT worth the time or money! so please guys if your thinking of going to this school... do your research...also..before the financial aid even goes through, they let you start class.. so if in the end you get denied, you have to pay the time that youve spent at the school..
One of my friend was looking for best Beauty School in Miami, Then we did a couple of the searches in Google for the Beauty School. at last we found and we visited there to inquire about all the course detail and Fee Structure etc.. After a long research we finalized the things and Enrolled for the "Makeup Artist and Skin Care" program
Nice
Current Homestead BSA Student. I am only writing this review due to my absolute disgust with this school. When I decided to change my career and pursue skin care, I had two options as far as the schools I could attend in Miami. The first was Florida College of Natural Health and the second was Beauty Schools of America. Due to my busy work schedule and the convenience of the BSA campus, I chose BSA over my first option. To sum it all up, I made one of the worst decisions and now I am stuck in the program. The school is really only concerned with making money. In my program, we work with Pevonia which is fabulous. However, unlike Florida College of Natural Health students, we are not afforded the luxury of purchasing products direct from Pevonia and instead have to go through the school since they have a binding contract with Pevonia not to sell to BSA students. I cannot afford to do that since the school increases the prices of the Pevonia products and only sells their students retail sizes so they can make a profit. How am I supposed to become familiar with products (when I go out in the real world) when BSA makes it impossible for us to purchase products by doing this? Additionally, I just found out that they let one of the best skin care instructors go this week. She is the teacher I started with and in my opinion, was the most professional teacher that the Homestead campus had. For a lack of a better word, the school and the make-up/skin care program is "ghetto!" I am dreading the day I graduate and have to go work in the field to make a living because I do not feel as though I have been taught properly. My make-up instructor is lazy and resorts to showing her students YouTube videos on make-up while she texts men she meets on plenty of fish, plays Farmville on Facebook or watches salsa dance videos on her computer. When you tell her you are unsure about how to apply make-up during one of the "make-up classes" (if you can call it that) she grabs your brush out of your hand and just does the work for you. Does that teach me anything? NO!!!! Am I paying the school to be taught? YES!!!!!! Well, as you can see, I am really unhappy with this school (to say the least) and I would caution any prospective student to really make a careful decision when it comes to enrolling in a BSA program. Do your homework as I am regretting not doing mine!
