Genesis Salon & Spa
Reviews
I don't know what kind of transformation may have taken place since the last reviews, but Genesis is absolutely an excellent Redken salon in the Wentzville area. All of the stylists are knowledgeable about the products they use, and the services are very reasonably priced. Making appointments is easy (they give you a reminder call before your appointment, thank goodness), and they offer a lot of incentives for returning clients. I have never had a bad experience with any of the stylists or services... In fact, I've referred several friends and colleagues with great results. Visit this salon and you won't be disappointed!
Ask for Lacie Q!!! Sweet, knows her products, and extremely talented.
I went into this salon before Mardi-Gras. I wanted my roots touch up and the back underneath of my hair to be dyed darker.First off, the whole tim i was there the stylists was talking to the other stylists how she was going to go out and get wasted ! the she ignored what i said about the back being darker and dyed almost all of my hair darker ( the contrast is platinum blonde with nearly black hair) she took the dark color almost 2 inches over my ears and all the way around. My roots didnot match the rest ot the previous color... and when she went to TRIM it she took off four inches and put my hair into a swing bob that i did NOT want!!! afterwards they gave e a abill of almost $160 dollars! never again ! unprofessional staff who dont listen because they're too busy gossiping and VERY OVERPRICED!! Lucky theres plenty of other good salons here in wentzville!
I recently went to Genesis late one evening to get my hair cut. The Stylist/Owner, charges $31 for the cut and blowdry/style. It’s a little more than I really want to pay, but she’s good and I’m willing to pay for experience. After she cut my hair SHE said she wanted to see what it looked like after she used the flat iron on it. (I should add that my hair is fairly short) I said ok… go ahead (nothing was said about it costing extra). Three minutes later, she was done I told her I didn’t care for the way it looked, so she tosseled it up to give it some lift. It just looked ok, but it didn’t really matter since I was just going home and getting ready for bed. At this point I’m still unaware of any extra charge, Stylist/Owner escorts me to the front counter, hands the girl there a ticket and proceeds off to a back room to train a new employee. The girl asked me if I wanted to add a tip to the total and I said yes. She gave me the total ($54) -I was surprised so I asked her what each thing cost. She quoted $31 for the cut/blowdry, $6 for a conditioner (that I did ask for) and that’s when I find out about the flat iron charge. Do you know she charged me an additional $12 for that?!?!?! I told the girl How unhappy I was and to pass it along to this Stylist/Owner. I left and did the slow burn thing all the way home. I really felt that was an underhanded way to treat me. When I got home I called back the salon and canceled all the appointments that I had made previously through Feb ‘08. I hope that $12 was worth it to the Stylist/Owner. I will not patronize places that treat customers in that manner. All she had to do was mention that there was an extra charge for the flat iron, and I would have said not to bother, but I’m sure she knew that.
