I joined here about 5 months ago, and have had the best experience. I love the Team Traning Classes. They challenge you to do things you normally would never do by working out by yourself, and make working out fun. Arleen is amazing. Beyond knowledgeable, and works with each individual to ensure you are getting the most out of your workout. I have seen changes in my body from these classes, and I am forever grateful for the life change WOW has helped me to make! Plenty of classes for all levels to take, and great staff to help you along the way. If you're looking for a women's only gym, this is definitely the place to be!!
I'm finally excited about working out again! I joined WOW for 2 reasons: the team training classes, and the 24 hour access. I love knowing I can go workout whenever I want - including on Holidays if I so desire. The team training classes are amazing. I have gone through the class with various trainers and they are all amazing. They all push in different, but equally challenging & supportive ways. I can't afford a trainer, but with these classes, I get the benefits of a trainer at a price I can afford!! Oh, and I am a huge fan of the steam room... so wonderful after an intense workout or run. The staff are easy to talk to and always willing to help. I live about 25 minutes away from WOW and still think the drive it totally worth it!!
I've been a member of this gym for several years and since the new owner, Kevin, took over, the club is the best it's ever been. They are now open 24/7 at no extra cost to members and the system is very secure. Last year, I really took on losing weight and when I hit a plateau. The owner and a personal trainer went farther than I ever expected in supporting me to get through the plateau and to my goal. They had started team training classes, which I participated in, as well as some sessions with a personal trainer. For the first time, I broke through the plateau and was successful. My endurance and strength increased farther than I had hope for. Some of the other new items that have been added are a Cafe, which serves healthy meal replacement shakes, 20 new spin bikes, a full range of team training classes, and fitness tools for functional training. This is the only club I know of that has a steam room and sauna. They have also added a wider variety of group classes. Overall, I am happier with my membership than I ever have been and would recommend that any woman looking for a great gym look here first!
Joined this gym back in august. I just felt unhealthy one day. Everyone at the gym is so nice. The team training is excellent. Never met a group of women so enthusiastic about working out. Everyone in tea training is very friendly. They remember your name and miss you when you are not in team training classes. They become your workout buddies. Afterburn is always creative ways to burn fat and make your muscles sores. Muscles that i have probably never used were burning :). Great class and great way to tone, lose weight, burn fat.
I joined WOW about 2 years ago and began training with Arleen. She has helped to transform my body and my attitude towards exercise. I now do functional training classes with Arleen and Pilates with Ann. I have lost weight, gained muscle, and flexibility. I have also overcome many fears about what I could and couldn't do. Arleen is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful. She can adjust the specific exercise to work for your level and experience. The gym has changed since I joined and for the better. There are classes available for everyone and every taste. It's nice to workout with everyone from grandma, other moms, and UNC students. My husband and my kids have noticed not just the weight loss, but my increased energy and enthusiasm for our overall health.
