If I could give this place -1 star I would. I purchased a groupon for laser hair removal; after 3 awkward, unprofessional sessions I received a call from the clinic stating that I was getting treated for an area that was not covered, which I was not aware of as I called to verify before purchasing the groupon to start with, and that they could no longer honor the groupon but that I could pay the discounted rate of > $200 per session for my next 3 sessions. Ummmm... I guess the office manager was fired and had been doing things unprofessionally. Not my problem; I work in the medical field, in a small practice, and we would sooner comp all of the money we lost from a mistake OUR office made than to put it back on the patient... Apparently Aria thinks much more of themselves than they do their patients. So do yourselves a favor, and don't support this business. It is not surprising that the clinic has had a least 2 owners, and I would suspect another is likely on the way given these type of practices....

Like others, I purchased a Groupon deal, as did some family members and we have been thoroughly unimpressed from day one. I was confident because I was friends with the previous owners (see reviews from 3+ years ago that are positive) and they were very respectable and honorable people so assumed (wrongly) that the standards would still be high. The Groupon my daughter purchased was not honored because they changed their minds and decided to only allow a max of one area of the body rather than the two they advertised. They informed her that she could get a refund from Groupon for the second area. Groupon refused to refund her until 8 email exchanges later and waiting for the spa owners to contact Groupon and discuss it, then she was given a Groupon CREDIT, not a refund. The first few months of my treatment, the front desk was managed by the woman who was also doing the laser removal because the owners didn't want to hire anyone to answer the phones and check people in. When they did get someone to work the front desk, she never called to remind me of appts which wasn't something I relied on, but is standard. The biggest issue has been if I ever needed to reach someone to reschedule or see if the snow was going to postpone my appt, I had to leave a minimum of three voicemails (they never answer the phone when you call - even on Wed-Fri when they are there) before someone would call me back. No one ever confirmed if the weather would impact my appt, so I didn't go and then had to call four times over three weeks to finally reschedule. This happened at least five times where I had to call in, but would do all I could to avoid the need to call in since I knew it was a problem. Most recently I used the restroom and noticed that almost every washcloth for customers to use was totally threadbaren to the point that it seemed to be a joke. My last appt was cancelled upon arrival because the laser was broken but no one called me before I made the trip out there - though it had been broken for at least a few days at that point. I was told the part had been ordered and I would receive a call within two to three weeks to reschedule. About two months later, after not hearing from anyone, I called twice over a two week period and no one called me back. The third call I made was finally to the owner (a different location) and left a message to call me back and less than five minutes later the aesthetician who I see called me (apparently the front desk person was too embarrassed to call after ignoring me yet again) and let me know that they in fact did not order the part at all and are instead insisting on having the staff there use the laser that is only meant for facial hair, so is extremely painful to use on other body parts. How cheap, tacky and terrible! This place is poorly run and I always left there feeling sorry for the qualified, kind, gracious, competent, likely underpaid aestheticians. The owners never called me to hear my concerns but just passed me off to try to reschedule me to come in to have them use the wrong laser on my legs!! I would stay far away from this place. Also, not one of us who had this treatment in full has been happy with the results. I had laser hair removal at Sona in Raleigh about 10 years ago on three body parts and was very happy with the results. This place is cheap as can be - down to not wanting to replace raggedy washcloths that couldn't cost them more than $30 for a nice set. No idea why they think they are going to survive when they have such poor service. Groupon deals are meant to get people in there and impress them so they'll want to come back and pay regular price. Not wise at all.

Didn't know where to go in the Triangle and after quite a bit of research (online as well as telephone) decided to try Aria this week. It was easy enough to get to, being in a shopping center south of Chapel Hill on 15/501. The owner/manager Vern couldn't have been any nicer and was a real professional in fully describing their services available and their pricing. Not the most expensive of spa's in the Triangle, but not the cheapest either (do you really want to go to the cheapest place when they're working on YOU??!!). The facilities are very nicely decorated, very clean, and overall very relaxing. A very comfortable place to visit. There were a number of regular clients (men as well as women, all professional looking) coming and going during my visit, and you could tell that they were pleased with Vern and the staff, making future appointments, or in one case, buying a gift certificate for a spouse. My technician Beth couldn't have been any more friendly or professional, putting me completely at ease. I had read the one very negative review on here, and had ignored it. I was glad that I did. My first appointment at Aria couldn't have gone any better, and I bought a package of future visits.

For those of you have a groupon for multiple visits with this spa BEWARE!!! Make sure you stay on top of when your appointments are scheduled. I had a 3 visit microdermabrasion groupon and only got to use 2 of them. So my 'deal' really isn't a 'deal' anymore...more like regular price. I got courtesy reminder calls for both of the first two visits and I even got a call from the anesthetist when I was 5 minutes late on the second visit. But for the third appointment, I got no call at all. Not a reminder call, not a 'you're late' call, not even a 'you missed your appointment the other day would you like to reschedule' call. When I called them back myself I was promptly told that there is a $40 missed appointment fee. So I lost a deal and they lost a customer. Everybody wins!!!

The owner is such a dishonest bad guy. All he cares about is money. Two years ago my skin was so clear acne free and I went to get peels to help with uneveness. He convinced me to buy a bronze brown packaged skincare line claimed it's the long awaited for miracle and I did. Two weeks later my face was battle field. I got horrible cystic huge painfull acne all over my face. Went back and saw an old lady and she was going to take it back but he insisted that I should continue to use it because this is a normal purging before I get all clear. and again he convinced me to continue using the products for a total of 8 weeks. My face gotten so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides because it hurts to lean my face on a pillow. I went back to see the old lady but this time I met with Toni, she told me to stop using it immediately because she saw how horrible my face has gotten (she complemented my skin the very first day I went there) and adviced me to see a dermatologist before it gets even worst. The owner didn't want to take the super expensive stuff back but Toni went to his office and convinced him to. It's now two years after that horrible experience and I'm breaking out uncontrollably ive seen dozens of dermatologists and nothing was a permeinant solution. I've spent 1000s of dollars because insurance companies don't cover acne meds. I'm cursing this owner day and night may god to bring him the worst disease upon him and make him suffer just like he made me suffer all these years and Im still suffering. Karma will get you so bad. Stop ripping peoples money. P.s Toni you're too sweet to be working in such a horrible place.
