The Fearrington House Inn
Reviews
My husband and I spent a night at Fearrington in October for our anniversary. We were upgraded to a suite and our package included room, tea, dinner, and breakfast, as well as treats in the room. I absolutely loved our experience but I have to say that what made it exceptional is the service! There was no snobbiness, everybody was very professional and very polite. The food was the ultimate in high quality. At tea I ended up eating the clotted cream and lemon curd together with a spoon. The server gave me an extra jar to go, and at breakfast gave me another set to eat with a spoon. This place is definitely a splurge but I had no regrets over the money we spent.
Excellent quarters and dining options. Do not skip the comp breakfast!
I've wanted to dine with the Fearrington House for years. My dinner last Thursday night was disappointing. Our waiter was a snob, and average at best. Our dinner was very slow coming out, it took 3 hours to dine. The first course took at least 45 minutes. The Amuse-Bouche was the best part of the dinner. The first course of Crab was excellent, my second course, a heirloom tomato salad, was average and the lobster as my main course was over cooked and tough. The chocolate souffle, the cake wasn't bad, the chocolate syrup tasted like instant chocolate out of a can, mixed with water. Not 5 Stars in my Ranking!
