Portsmouth Spa

Calm atmosphere. I showed up early and was offered refreshments and felt very comfortable. I went for a classic facial, done by Ryan, and she made my first spa experience wonderful. She focused on everything I wanted from it, and I left feeling amazing. Only complaint was the receptionist was constantly on her cell phone whenever I went to talk to her.
I was treated to a afternoon by my boyfriend at the spa. Michelle did a wonderful job doing my hair, Jessica did my nails and they still look good after almost three weeks and Stephanie did a great job with my makeup. The girls all made my afternoon very enjoyable and so much fun. Beautiful atmosphere, Highly recommended!
Had a very poor experience here for a Shellac manicure... Definitely will not be going back/recommending! I felt like I was being rushed. Shellac should last 2-3 WEEKS, mine did not even last two days, as there was too little product applied. The room was incredibly dark, so my disappointment only set in after I had left. For over $50, I could have gotten 2 manicures elsewhere.
Pros: As a new customer I signed up for their mailing list online and got a free $15 coupon to use to buy retail items which was awesome!! The place is at a pretty good location downtown but doesn't have it's own parking. The shop had some interesting holistic products for sale. Cons: A hair salon atmosphere rather than a luxury spa-type atmosphere. My massage was done poorly and didn't leave me feeling very relaxed. I felt like more of a burden for being the last customer of the day because when I came out of my (rushed) massage the place had been shut down, lights off, etc. Have to come down a couple flights of stairs which might be difficult for those with mobility issues. Not much variety in their retail area....mostly hair care products only.
Two phone calls, two unanswered calls. Not a way to do business. Not sure why the hotel recommended this place other than a 15% coupon. 15% of nothing = nothing.
