d'mai Urban Spa

This spa is lovely! The showers are clean, and they offer everything you might have forgotten - hair ties, razors, etc. The massage therapists they employ are all skilled and professional, and Marta is an ace waxer (don't go to anyone else! She's the best!) My favorite is the sauna. Twenty minutes of silence and steam is rejuvenating. Give it a whirl. Tips are in cash.
This place is a bit pricey then the usual spas but I guess it's worth it for the nice atmosphere and the wonder full tea and snacks they serve you. as other reviewers wrote the staff is friendly and the locker room is quiet nice they really do have everything you might need blowdryer, hair scrunchies, contact solution, wipes, pads, gel. hair spray body wash, lotion, face wash, even underwear...it's amazing i can go on...the service is pretty decent I had a micro done so i can't comment on their other services. they also gave me free samples of their products used which was nice.
I went for the first time today as a walk-in, they had a last minute cancellation! I saw Mary who was very good, strong hands and a way of staying in contact so that you sort of know what's coming. No surprises or awkwardness on the table. The facility is very nice - the mens' locker room/changing room is a little on the small side, but it's clean and well-appointed with a nice shower and towels. Before and after your massage you can sit in the hallways which are simple board paths with dim lights and little trays of water with various flavorings - orange, cucumber, etc... I don't get a lot of massages, but I definitely would go back to D'mai.
I proposed to my massage therapist. I'm married, sure, but I had a moment of weakness. You couldn't blame me - they employ really amazing people here. The ladies locker room is heavenly - much nicer than my crummy shower! They have just about everything you need to shower here: soap, body wash, conditioner - all in wonderful scents. You can change here, too, and go on your merry way, and they've included loads of extras in case you forget anything: tooth brushes, hair brushes, contact solution, hair thingys, etc. In addition to my massage, I had a waxing done (embarrassing!) and it was worth every extra penny having it done here vs. at the nail salon. The lux, ultra-clean surroundings made it feel so much nicer than a walk-in place. I left feeling refreshed! Also, normally I really don't care about stuff like this, but it's so beautifully decorated. It feels fancy, but not intimidating.
I can't comment to the facial/mani/pedi controversy as my husband and I were at d'mai for a couples massage (a gift from my sister for helping at her wedding). The massage area is beautiful, quiet and everyone is very attentive. The couples massage room is in a tent in an exterior space! The light is beautiful, the temperature is perfect (i think when it's a little warmer they can even open the roof). The massage therapists were great (mica and tina). 60 minutes of bliss. Sauna after was on the small side but we didn't have to share so it was perfect. I would definitely go back.
