Scam!!!! Do not sign up for this! They will get you to commit for a year and then give you the run around when it comes time to cancel the account. The cost is exactly the same as other spas in town except the other spas don't make you commit to a full year. I was foolish to sign up for this and I really regret it. There's a reason they force you to sign up for a long term agreement.... they know you will want to cancel and they want to trap you. Don't be dumb. Go somewhere else.

This is a thorough review, so in summary, I had a great visit and great one-hour massage! I will go again now that I'm back in the area and want to use my membership that I had purchased in another part of the country. Here we go. I found two Toledo-area locations and chose this location for convenience as neither had good reviews overall. It's for that reason that I'm taking time to write this thorough review. After not getting a return appointment call from a message left Sunday night seeking Monday 1-hour appointments for two, I was not encouraged. I called at 10 a.m. Monday morning to followup and was told there were no appointments available until Tuesday. I commented, so you don't have any appointment time today, followed by "I've been getting calls from the Massage Envy where I purchased my membership reminding me that I have numerous sessions available for use". Immediately, the front desk rep said, oh, you are a member, let me check availability of our member slots. Thankfully, I was able to get in at 5:00 p.m. Monday as hoped, although my husband was no longer able to join me. My first recommendation is that callers state upfront if they are members; and equally that front desk team ask such of callers as well. The location is easy to find and is in the shopping plaza at corner of Central Avenue and Secor Rd in same building section as Starbucks. When I got there, I was surprised to see four Massage Envy persons at the front desk, but was greeted immediately as I gave my name, etc. I completed my medical information and was directed to the Tranquility Room which is nicely appointed, tidy, tranquil with low, but not dark lighting. My therapist Alex (female) greeted me immediately and once in the treatment room, she explained her technique and flow so I would know what to expect. We also discussed needs, medical information, and pressure request. We discussed table temperature, lighting, and music level. Overall my massage was professional and well-done. My husband and I get a lot of massages all over the world at some of the finest resorts, spas, and hotels. What I loved, "she didn't talk, but only spoke to inquire of my comfort and to advise of position changes" creating and maintaining tranquility. Her pressure was firm consistently. Each body part/side received equal time and was pretty consistent in applied massage technique which started with a full head/neck, face, ears, shoulder massage which was just excellent. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my massage and the onsite service received. The massage technique, professionalism of the staff, cleanliness, and overall experience at this Toledo location met my expectations and is comparable to other "good" Massage Envy locations in other Ohio cities and states across the country. Also, for the price point, service model, and location, it was a well-executed service experience as was the quality of the massage that I received compared to more spa-like settings where you receive robes, slippers, lockers, and therapists with years of training and experience, etc. My therapist Alex seemed mature in her experience-level. The foot, shoulder, back, knee, legs, thighs, arms, hands, upper buttock/lower back massage techniques were well done. At check out, I was asked by Laurel, I think, (very pretty, long, long black-shiny, wavy locks, petite in size) if I wanted to reschedule. I did not due to upcoming travel, but I definitely will be using this location in the future. I will write a review each time. Team Alex (therapist) and Laurel and Kinsey at front desk Monday evening 9/30/13 were great representatives and made my visit pleasant and relaxing right up to the moment I walked out the door - yea... I told them that I rely on service reviews and would be writing a great review in light of the negative reviews placed by others. They were surprised and very appreciative. I hope this is helpful to all and starts a trend to update experiences on this location..Great job ladies!

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO JUST GET A MASSAGE!! You would think this sounds crazy but it is a 'time-share' type sales scam!!! I thought I was sending an out-of-town guest on a special, relaxing 'spa-like' day, only to find out they wouldn't even let him pay until he was forced to look at a contract!!! Very disappointed that I wasn't told of this scam when I booked the appointment! Since we live in town, we may have been interested in the service, but the way they try to hard sell everyone, even out-of-town people is just disgusting!! So much for providing a relaxing service!! NOT GOOD PEOPLE.....NOT GOOD!!!

I currently have a massage envy membership love it but like some other people have stated some of the people are great at what they do and others totally need to finda a different profession i can say that dawn by far gives the best massage out of everyone ive had at this location or the maumee location and after having her she is the only one ill go in to see!!!

Lacks intelligence with their own process. When it was time to cancel the contract the Westgate office advised me I could e-mail the notice of cancellation which was helpful saving me the drive there. I did so via the website. Approximately 1 month later I received a call from Massage Envy asking when I'd like to schedule my massage for that month. When I told the caller I had cancelled my membership she apologized and said they'd take care of that. Then 2 months later I notice my bank statement... They failed to cancel the contract at 2 separate points. It took multiple phone calls and e-mails to get my money back and the contract finally cancelled. Any previous enjoyment during my time spent there with the 2 good therapists at that location was tainted. Save your money, don't bother because you will only work yourself up some tension in dealing with unskilled and undereducated management.
