Cryo Spa Natural Healing Center

I was going from Groupon to Groupon for massage in hopes of finding a good massage therapist. After going to at least six different massage therapists at six different places I finally came to Cryo. It was close to where I live but was in a strip mall which is why I think I waited so long to go. I had my initial massage using my Groupon and was blown away. I finally found my place.Upon my return a few weeks later to check availability I learned my massage therapist was no longer there. I hesitated and booked with Lisa Johnson. From the moment the massage began I knew Lisa was the real deal. Lisa is a true therapist. This isn't your 10 moves on the right shoulder and 10 moves on the left shoulder massages. This is pinpoint area specific massage. Her method is fresh, her attention to detail is incredible, and her knowledge of the body is exact. Huge pluses for me are 1. very little (sometimes none) lotion or oil used, 2. heated massage table, 3. sheets are always covering the parts of my body not being worked on, 4. even though the room is right next to reception noise level is very low if any, 5. each massage is unique, never cookie cutter. I have been to Lisa four times and will continue to do so. As for the spa, my experience has been a good one. They have an automated email confirmation and reminder email system and they call the day before. This is great for me as I often schedule three weeks out. Their offices are clean and quiet and I always feel welcomed there. Do mind, body, and overall well being a favor and check this place out. They have great introductory rates, no need to get a Groupon if you can't find one.
I tried this spa for a deep tissue massage. It was excellent. Other spas I have tried say they do deep tissue and then give you the standard Swedish Massage. Good if that is what you want; but, when you need additional body work you want what you came for. My therapist, Gail, listened to my needs and worked on numerous tight muscles. She is also a Shiatsu practitioner and I followed up with a Shiatsu massage 2 weeks later. After another assessment, she continued to work on the problem areas. I already feel the benefits and increased flexibility.
Lucy at Cryo Spa Natural Healing Center is the most experienced shiatsu practitioner i know. I live and Florida and travel to PA many times per year. Each time i visit PA, i see Lucy. She helps me tremendously with my muscle and tendon problems. I only wish she lived in Florida so I could see her every week. She is really that good and well worth the trip from anywhere. She is truly an expert in her field.
One year ago I was introduced to Cryo Spa by my daughter who is treated there for stress relief through massage. Knowing that I suffered with pain due to scoliosis (I have significant curvature in my lower spine) she asked if they could do anything to help me. I consulted with Lucy Goldstein. After studying my x-rays and MRI report, she felt that Shiatsu (acupressure massage) would be very helpful. Lucy is my Shiatsu therapist and after just two treatments I felt significant relief. The acupressure massage increased the blood flow and I could feel the pain subside, allowing me to relax. The gentle stretching of muscles made those muscles more flexible and supportive in the area of my lower back. I can now walk a mile everyday with no pain. I had tried several physical therapy centers prior to Cryo Spa, with no relief. Shiatsu helps my entire body, not just the problem area. I didn’t realize how much pain I had in other areas (neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain) until the pain was gone. Lucy has also made suggestions for dietary changes for me that have helped tremendously to reduce the inflammation as I also suffer from osteo arthritis in some of my joints. She has given me some simple stretches to do at home which are so beneficial to help my muscles stay strong and flexible between treatments. The relaxing atmosphere, music and the hot stone massage are all so enjoyable. I would highly recommend Shiatsu treatment to anyone who is experiencing pain, especially if other treatment has not worked.
Having recently been in a car accident, the article “Shiatsu for Car Accident Aftermath” really hits home. I suffered several broken ribs, concussion, lacerated spleen and bruised knee. I felt as though the doctors and physical therapists were doing a nice job, but I had serious limited range of motion in my neck, trouble sleeping, and extremely vivid dreams not necessarily about the accident. When I went to Lucy she spent time looking me over, then said “I’m going to heal you emotionally, then work on the body”. Having worked with her in the past with great results I have learned to trust her completely. The shiatsu sessions started and results came quickly. The stiffness in my neck lessened, range of motion greatly improved and I felt much more relaxed. It was though her work allowed my body and mind to better heal itself. The energy I got from each session was amazing and recovery has gone well. I feel that the acupressure and shiatsu massage performed by Lucy far exceeded the work done by traditional medical practices. Dan Comisky Wrightstown, PA
