Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes
Reviews
Own a Marriott timeshare and love to travel. Initially, was to stay 4 weeks, place is so great, we did not leave-stayed six weeks this winter. Probably more next week. We can be kept busy with the onsite activities but their is a lot to do in town as well. Julia and the other staff at the gym/pool area were most hospitable . Other service personnel were the were responsive to every need. Villas neat and kept clean regularly. Views from the villas are THE BEST ANYWHERE-the ocean is always beautiful and the weather changes are reflected in the ocean. AWESOME PLACE! AWESOME PEOPLE!
This was a great hotel! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was very clean and the view was awesome. Check-in and out was easy and the staff was very professional. The indoor pool was awesome during the winter!
We checked into the first room and immediately saw hair on the bathroom floor and on the shower walls. There was also a layer of dust that was right next to the bathroom light switch. I wish that we actually stayed in the first room but we asked to move to another room which was even worse. It was absolutely unsanitary. In the bathroom there was rust in the tub, mold under the soap holder, the towel rack and under the sink was rusted. The wallpaper was also peeling off the wall and the bathroom fan was not working. Now on to the room itself. The air vent was covered in black mold and you could actually see the dust bunnies trying to escape from the vent. Not only did the vent blow directly to the bed, the stucco ceiling was no longer white, but gray with dust. There was also mold on the curtains and the curtains were so old that when closed you can actually see the light through all the little holes. The table was not cleaned when we pulled it out for our room service. It was dirty and there were several coffee stains that were on it. The room obviously not cleaned. Good thing we didn't drink coffee because the coffee maker was also caked in coffee. I know that it is off season, but a filthy room is never an excuse. The only thing this hotel has going for it was the front desk staff. They were at least friendly and professional.
Good experience staying here. Beautiful location, great beach, nice pools. Downside: needs some rehab. Broken door, worn out carpet. Had the wrong rooming arrangements for me. Were great about fixing the door. Overall, no issues at all.
We just got home from a fabulous stay at the Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes!!!! Not only are the grounds amazing, beautifully well kept, but the staff is beyond amazing, from the grounds keepers, house keeping staff, to the front desk, and the sales staff. My family has created some really great memories here, if you are looking for an amazing family vacation, I highly recommend booking your trip here, not only do they have great amenities that include lots of outdoor grills, outdoor pools, indoor pools, not to mention the gym has a sauna room, steam room, and showers, plus they also have a huge 4 story tree house for the kids, the kid pool has a large water slide, that is just not for kids!!! For a relaxing time they have a quiet tranquility pool at night it changes colors and its just simply beautiful. I can not say enough great things about this place, never have I ever had better customer service or appreciation.
