very friendly staff and great prices on mani and pedis! they have a special during the week from 10am-2pm on their mani/pedi package!
I'm so glad I came here. I got a haircut, and I couldn't be happier. Even though I went in not knowing what I wanted, the stylist did a great job and it's what I wanted! The shampoo was the best shampoo I've ever had! I got a lovely scalp and upper neck massage. I will definitely be coming back for mani/pedi, massages, and a facial!
Their new location is a lot nicer than their old location. Services are very good and priced reasonably for the neighborhood. You have to park in the garage.
(I can really only vouch for the waxing they do since I haven't had any of their other services.) I had a LivingSocial deal, so I called first to make the appointment hoping that I wouldn't get treated worse for paying less. They seem to be a bit strict about timeliness when it comes to redeeming vouchers ("If you're five minutes late, you forfeit your voucher!"). Luckily I got there well ahead of my appointment! They pretty much got me started as soon as I got there. Didn't know what to expect of the salon since it's between a Subway and a McDonald's, but it's not bad inside. Mary was the woman who did my wax and she was really great--very nice, competent, and most importantly she was quick! It seems like she gets great reviews here for her cuts, too. I'd come back, especially since she said that they'd offer the same price I paid for the voucher for my subsequent waxes. Since I was using a voucher and paid my tip in cash, I didn't notice a credit card fee this time. Overall, a pretty good experience.
Went there for waxing, worst experience ever-the lady even asked if it was my first time...she obviously had fun w/burning me w/wax, after multiple times of me saying it was too hot. I've gotten waxed on the under arms and eyebrows plenty of times, yes-this was my first time getting waxing done...but I've done some research, what aestheticians use to help w/waxing...this lady, (who I sadly don't have a name) who looked spanish, black long curly hair...who was working nails at the time, took me in. She did not use anything, just the wax and strips. Worst part is, she didn't do a thorough job. I was doing this wax through a groupon coupon, I wonder if that's why she really didn't care. She waxed fast-and 4 times each and every spot, claiming she needed to change directions....no powder, no lotion...nothing before, during or after the whole waxing experience. After she left the room-I came out, took me a moment longer, due to the pain....but while coming out, I see this lady laughing w/another coworker as if she really did something amusing...and they quickly stopped and looked at me, she smirked and told me to put lotion on, apparently it was worth talking about. I tipped her 20 regardless of my horrible experience, I'm never going back there again and I originally wanted to get it done by Mary, but she wasn't there when I stopped by... I plan on trying out Meri, in this Sugar Baby Wax place in Alexandria, she uses powders/and other soothing remedies to make the brazilian waxing experience a breeze from what I've read on reviews, she is also an aesthetician for 19 years. And to update-I've gone to Yalda's Beauty Salon in Arlington twice since my horrible experience w/Mancini De Paris...and Ida -the waxer there knows how to be fast and hella thorough...worth it. Love her, she uses a special wax and powder...she's the best. I'm literally bare in less than 10 minutes. She's great.
