There was a fire alarm 5 minutes into my session. Had to evacuate the building. The manager and several employees assured me that I wouldn't be charged a full session (one hour) for the 15 minute massage I ended up getting. That was a bold-faced lie. A few weeks later I found out they charged for the entire session. The massage wasn't even that great...like the guy didn't know what he was doing. I asked specifically for my calves to be worked on...he didn't even touch them. Shady business practice AND bad massage. Definitely don't support this place with your money. Go to the one in Clarendon.
The therapists are great! However, 2 things bother me. 1. They stop massages 5 minutes early and always start late. Even when they are late they do not make up or exceed time. 2. I cancelled my services back in Februrary. It's now September and they are still billing MEEEEEEE. I called yesterday and the guy said "Oh we must have forgot or got tied up." WTF! That's $59/month for almost most of the year! Other than that service is great!
The actual massage treatment was of a good quality but the customer service rapidly deteriorated since the time that I signed on. I feel sorry for the practitioners there. I don't mind a few flubs here and there but there seems to be a blatant apathy towards improving the customer experience. Even canceling my membership was an ordeal, and now I have three sessions left and though I cannot use them because of a medical issue (surgery), I would still have to pay extra to transfer it to another person so it doesn't going to waste. What they don't seem to realize is that all of this stuff works off a good customer experience and supply and demand. Though they are cheaper for a regular massage, I now feel like paying extra that would actually go to the therapists and for better service is far more worth it than patronizing Massage Envy. I would not recommend these folks to anyone who seeks massage therapy for stress-reduction and a pleasant experience. Don't be fooled by the price comparison!
Disgusting, appalling customer service. Will NOT let you cancel your membership and steal your money. DON"T JOIN.
The therapists themselves were great. Very friendly and attentive. However, the front desk is completely rude and incompetent. They do not greet you when you arrive and when they do finally help you, there is no warmth or friendly demeanor. I utlimately ended up canceling my membership after only two months due to the fact that they lost my appointment which I had scheduled a month in advance and received an email confirmation for. When I arrived for the appointment, the girl at the front desk took about fifteen minutes just to find my information and told me there was no appointment. There was no apology, no alternative solution to rectify the mistake. When I asked to speak to the manager, they claimed she wasn't there and continued to blankly stare at me I guess hoping I would leave. DO NOT go to this clinic. Massage Envy as a company is wonderful but this location's customer service is unacceptable.
