The Wellness Sanctuary
Reviews
I had a very pleasent and relaxing experience at the Wellness Sanctuary. I purchased the Living Social deal for a 60 minute massage. I procrastinated and tried to schedule when it was about to expire! The owner was very nice and extended the deal for another week so that I could get in when my schedule allowed. When I first got there, it did look like they were closed and I wasn't sure I had the right place. Then Mary came out and let me in. It was a Saturday, which isn't in their normal hours of operation, so the store was closed, but they still do massages by appointment. Mary was fantastic! This was my first massage, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Mary walked me through everything, made sure I was comfortable and that she was using the right preassure. I also took advantage of the "Sleeing Beauty" add-on which lets you stay on the table for 20min after the massage to further relax and nap. Also, if you do the Living Social deal, they will give you another massage at the same price if you schedule within 30 days! Fantastic place and I'm definately going back :)
I found The Wellness Sanctuary when I was visiting the Seattle area and I'm so glad I did! I was lucky enough to talk to Michaella and accept her generous offer of coming in early for a 90 minute massage. I thought that was so kind, especially because I am not from the area and my chances of coming back "regularly" are slim. What that told me is: she is obviously very serious about her business, and truly has a love for "wellness"...I *loved* my massage, it was perfect in every way. She didn't talk the whole time ((like some of my therapists have)), her room was warm and inviting. One of my favorite parts was the aromatherapy she used. I think she made a "potion" of 7 different oils on my back? It was AMAZING! ;) I will make the Wellness Sanctuary a destination stopover next time I head North! Thanks again!!
Dear Ann, I just happened ran across this message you posted on Google under reviews. I am deeply sorry you feel the way you do and chose to post it publicly; but as business owners or anyone else for that matters- we have no control about what others think or say about us. I totally do not mind constructive feedback, in fact we thrive on it as we are always looking to improve. I would like to clarify and respond to what you have said though so that others who view these reviews can get a more rounded picture. You are correct, that our policy was to make copies of photo ID. This was in light of all the attacks and sexual misconduct/assaults that were happening in WA to local massage practitioners. This policy was put in place as a deterrent and safety measure. Not much but it was my hope to warn any predators that this place wasn't of that nature and two..to give my therapist's some sense of reassurance. I had never run a Living Social deal in the past 7 years of doing business but had wanted to show our new space and new additions and so decided to run a deal. It was during this recent deal that I did not follow my intuition and chose not to take a look at a gentleman's id as he was with his wife/girlfriend..turns out he totally sexually harassed me while his partner was waiting in the car. I didn't know what to do as I was so stunned. Right there I definitely felt like I needed to stick to policy. I understand the discomfort of leaving personal info but at the same time I would understand to in a situation like this. Also, all medical professionals and other industries as well are required by law to keep client information protected which we do to the fullest capacity that we can. I know this was a Living Social Deal but even on the terms and conditions of Living Social...it says purchaser must follow merchant policies and it does state on our policy form of that particular policy. After your complaint and a few others from the deal I revised my policy to just review client's ID along with taking down the State and last 4 alpha/numeric digits...as a compromise to this dilemma. I had explained to you Miss Ann when you came in the situation, I tried to find remedies to no avail. You are right that you missed out on an opportunity to see if our Center was the right for you and I'm sorry we didn't get that far. Most that have worked with us, would say otherwise- just see the other reviews along with on our website...including recent demographics from Living Social Deal...9/10 customers gave us thumbs up and would return. This is one of the nightmares a business owner has...will I get a bad review? What if people believe it? Where I stand on this is this...I believe we try to do our best and give the best we can to all we can...we can't please everyone, but we try our darndest. It is true that to schedule online we require credit card info on new clients to secure your appointment- this is to account for last minute cancellations/no-shows...The Wellness Sanctuary does not have access to this personal info rather Stripe..the processor my online scheduler Schedulicity uses..does and it is only charged at those times. So I hope this helps Miss Ann, and to anyone else who may have concern...and the best way even...is talking to the person or business directly..which I am happy to via phone/email. We wish you the best in your wellness journey! Be Well.
I don't write reviews usually, but here I had to. This was a Living Social deal and I made an appointment with the owner Michaella over the phone because if you do so on their website, they want your credit card number and I don't leave my cc information on just any website. My appt time was 6pm and as I get to this place it looks deserted and I'm peering into this darkened room from the door and as I open it I see Michaella who welcomes me and offer a glass of water. Oh, okay so far so good and then it goes down from there. She hands me some forms and says to fill them out and then she needs to copy my driver’s license. Huh? For what!!!??? This is a living social deal already paid for. No insurance involved, no checks, no credit card needed. Why do you need to COPY my driver’s license? She says for security purposes. I told her I was not comfortable leaving my personal information stored, lord knows where, for anybody's access that I don't know. I may or may not ever come back but you want to store my DL? I don't think so. She proceeds to tell me I am wasting her time, it's policy and that she could be doing something else. Really? By this point even if we were to come to an agreement, this is the person who is supposed to relax me with a massage? Wow! So if you don't mind leaving your personal information with this place, go for it. Too much identify theft happening right now. I really can't speak on the quality of the massage because I never got one. But her attitude and her policy sucked.
Michaella does a great massage that is therapeutic and relaxing. She is very skilled in her technique and able to find the places in the body that need the most attention. I really enjoyed the use of essential oils with the massage, they added a new experience and could feel how powerful they work to open up and relax the muscles. Michaella wont disappoint you if you are looking for a clean, welcoming place for a great massage.
