Goodlife Armadale
Reviews
While using the gym I found it to be horrendously hot in the cardio room over summer, half of the fans were non-functional and the same could be said for the equipment. Half of the workout was just trying to find a treadmill with working controls or a monitor. After trying to end my membership (after the contract end) I was given the run around, being told that the "customer relations manager" wasn't there when I went in person or that I would get a callback if I called up (which took days to happen). Then when I finally had my cancellation processed (a week later when someone finally contacted me) I had a 30 day period to keep paying (totally legit and in the contract, in hindsight I should have cancelled 30 days prior to contract end...). I have just had to go back because they put the date that they called me back as the end date, not when I informed them of my cancellation. Lesson learned, it's nicer (and cheaper) to run outside, and Goodlife customer service is the pits.
Dealing with good life in Armadale what a joke!!!!! They take your credit card but when it is time for contracts to cancel oh my!!! Contacted them 10/02 advised on the phone my contract expires on 23/2 and not to do anything as it will cost me!!!!!! BUYER BEWARE ! I sent a Email 14/02 to confirm cancellation ...(No response)account still being debited, rang 03/03 , email 03/03... Spoke to employee who advised someone would contact me..Of Course no one did!!. I phoned again 07/03 and resent my emails 07/03 STILL NO RESPONSE , I was advised that manager will call me ( Ha ha Joke) .... Well be sure if your contract expires... Actually.. it does not expire ... you still have to give 30 days... Please don't wait for them to call back, if you want to make sure that in fact you are not in contract.. they never do and as for your card details be sure that you are fully aware that this branch has absolutely No Customer services ... By the way had to call 12/03 and threatened that I was going to post bad reviews ... HA HA no reponse ...; Called back at 5pm was finally put through to customer service... who advised that I still owed $47 in cancellation fees... ( First I heard of this) and When I asked for details to complain to head office... Shock horror they finally found the manager who never knew anything about this ... What an ordeal!!!!! Follow up ... They emailed to tell me that they decided to credit they $47 and then believe it or not phoned me on 13th to check I had received the email. Also , wanted to know if there was anything I wanted to say!!!!! There is a lot I am saying and will not shut up. Also emailed Head office on 12th ... MAYBE that's why I actually got a call from them 13/03!!! Why as a consumer do we have to tolerate such poor customer service particularly with the economic climate the way it is. Surely Big Companies like this would not want unhappy clients such as me posting this review on every available form. Also received correspondence from Head office yesterday advising that my MULTIPLE emails had been sent to the state manager. Please MR CEO train your staff to try DIFFUSE situations rather than IGNITE them.
Pool area best described as functional - has everything you would want (pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam), but looks like a communist recreation centre that hasn't had a lick of paint since the 1970s
Goodlife gym in Armadale is always dirty. The Hot yoga classes aren't hot or very good. The instructors don't give much assistance to new people. The best instructor I've met so far is the spin class guy. He's pretty good. Aqua areobics is good with a few instructors though. The spa is great. Sometimes the pool has way to much chlorine in it. I think the pool needs a clean it's really dirty on the ground at the shallow end. Don't bother requesting a trial pass online as they wont get back to you. I picked this gym because of the extensive classes they had, but it turns out all the ones I wanted to go to ie yoga and hot yoga wern't worth it in the end.
I am actually a gym member who has watched this once excellent Recreation Fitness gym systematically deteriorate since it's sale to Goodlife. There numerous issues with equipment and service and feel sorry for the lovely front desk staff who have to receive a plethora of complaints, knowing full well that issues and feedback will continue to be ignored. Air cond in women's change room has not worked for over a year and air cond in cadio room not working for at least one month. Weekend hours were shortened from 730 pm to 630pm , the rationale at the time was that it was for the winter..that was almost a year ago. Feedback is never responded to and there is only an absent interim manager...and who would want to manage it anyway? And then there are the poorly purchased cross trainers that keep breaking down....and other equip that has just been removed but not replaced. AND MORE ++++ Goodlife (Armadale) could change it's name to good lies or goodlines (s) but they are not even good at that! Thank you Google for providing everyday consumers with this forum.
