Great Salon, comfy chairs, wonderful front desk, excellent hair stylists, good music, everything about this place is first rate. Go try it! :-)

A lovely salon, located in a good location. With lots of floor space and good lighting. They have a large variety of products as well. However my experience was not at all what I expected. This was my first time coming after reading many great reviews. I was put with a Junior stylist, and even though she was frienly and welcoming, I received a bad haircut that does not flatter my face. I went back to get it fixed, but unfortunately she did not understand anything I was saying and put really short and stubby layers on one side of my head, and left the other side's layer much longer. I asked to thin my hair without getting rid of length and it looks like she did the exact opposit... This might look good on some other people, but it looks horrible on me and I would expect a hair stylist to know what does and doesn't look good on different face shapes. Sadly, I will probably never book with this same junior stylist again, as I feel she is not on the same page as me when it comes to acheiving a certain look. I will however try a different, more senior stylist. I have no doubt this is a good salon though!

I am 44 and needed a change. I had a lot to request and Richard gave me what I wanted. The haircut is great and easy to style which was important to me. I was told by a friend to try him out and am so glad I did ... I got a hairstyle that is "Me," to a tee. I will return in the future for another cut with Richard as he truly knows what he is doing. Besides being a great stylist Richard is a person who is interested in perfecting his work and communicating openly. I know if I had a problem with the cut I could call back within a couple days and get it fixed without a fuss. This isnt usually the feeling I have with hair stylists and that made me really respect him, and his work. Try him so you know for a fact how good he is.

I have tried a number of stylists over the years, and have been extremely happy with Richard, who has cut my hair for the past three. Richard takes the time to understand exactly what you are looking for, whether it be conservative, ultra-modern, or, most importantly for me, simple and easy to manage. He creates a great cut, and the end result is always what I originally expected. Richard is also a really great guy, and is versatile with a conversation. The salon overall creates a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. They also have inexpensive valet parking, a huge plus in Calgary. I would highly recommend Richard and Edges Salon Downtown.

It was overpriced for the haircut and colour I got. The colour started to fade extremely fast and I was told it would be free of charge to fix but unfortunately when I went back it cost $80 to fix my hair. Cut, colour and fixing up came to $320 for a subpar job. Considering all the great options in the area, I would never go back to Edges!
