Massage Envy Spa Mission Bay

BEWARE...in 2012 my husband signed up for a yearly membership package. He did not like the services provided by Massage Envy so he canceled his membership via telephone. A year later 2013 they charged his credit card for $500 for the year membership. When he called to complain that he had verbally called to cancel his contract they advised him that they do not take telephone cancellation, that he would have to provide the cancellation in writing, so he could not dispute the charges. He argued with them for days asking why he wasn't advised of this when calling to cancel? The manager assured that he would cancel the auto renew verbally this time and that he didn't have to come in. A year later 2014 and we're still being charged the $500 yearly membership fee! This place is ridiculous and a complete scam!!! Do not EVER sign up for auto renew...you will regret it!
I am writing this message more to share the profound disappointment I had today at your location in Mission Bay Boca Raton. I have transferred 1 ½ hours massage to my mother in law who is visiting us from out of country after her most recent chemo treatment. Her session ended up being less than an hour!! I went in before her and returned to find her already done. The assisting personnel and the masseuse have both failed to see the time she had and ruined the wonderful day I had planned for her. Asking the manager on duty about the situation, he completely blew me off, telling me to call in and book an appointment for that half of hour...half an hour!! He was completely indifferent and careless and he didn’t give a dime about the entire mess up. I will not even mention that her massage was not that great as the guy made conversation for a big part of the session. Really? Conversation during a massage? I am very disappointed and would like Massage Envy to fix this mess!
This place is a joke. Massage barely lasts 40 minutes when paid for an hour. Therapist only rubbed my shoulders and back when I asked for a fully body. Then they tried to sell me a contract when I wasn't happy with the service provided. All they care about is money and making you sign into a contract. Will not be going back!
My fiance bought an annual membership a year ago. This is the only Massage Envy he and I went to. What a bad experience! This is such a churn em' in churn em' out company; they do not care about their customers. They only care about profit. They do not try to make it feel relaxing or calming for members. I am a spa fanatic and knew when we went to Massage Envy for the first time that I would not be purchasing a membership with my fiance. It is not a good place for massages. My fiance had horrible massages the last five times he went. They also have HORRIBLE customer service. My fiance wanted to "gift" some of his massage time to me so we could go together. He had already paid for the time and had extra time to use. We thought it made sense to just go together. Even though he paid for the time, he was only allowed to give me an hour of massage time every 6 months which cost him an extra $15 for a transfer fee. What a scam! If he paid for it already, why does it matter if I use it or he uses it. The cherry on top came when he cancelled the membership. He was told he had 90 minutes of massage time left. He called back three weeks later to schedule his last 90 minute massage and the receptionist, Danielle told him that because he was no longer a member he could not use the 90 minute massage that he had already paid for!!!!! How insane is that! Do yourself a favor and go to a real spa. Massage Envy is the fast food of the spa world.
Worst massage...staff was rude...manager was not helpful and tried to push more services. Won't be going back!
