WELL WELL WELL I couldn't help but laugh when I hear ppl talking about the staff being pushy. BECAUSE THEY ARE!!!! I USED TO BE ONE OF THEM!!!! the managers push you to sell or you loose your job. that's why so many people quit or get fired. I quit,. I was tired of dealing with the manager . nothing was ever good enough. lets just say, I wasn't stuck up enough to work there. they try to scim on products buy telling you to tell the client its excactly what they need during there facial. EXAMPLE- we were out of a peel
Started off ok. My daughter and I got body polishes then massages. I loved my masseuse Phil. The services were very satisfactory. Checking out at their front desk is stressful/annoying. The problem is when I went to pay I was informed they could not put the tip on my credit card. Between them trying to up sell, then having to go withdraw $$ from their ATM, it wipes out the nice relaxing experience I had with my services. I called to get a receipt, and had asked to speak with the manager because I was told I could not get a receipt for the $60 I handed their front desk. This is very disconcerting. Then as I was trying to explain to the manager that I was not informed of their tipping policy, she proceeded to speak over me the entire time. Very bad experience, therefore will not be back.
I went to the location at the Forum with my mom to get an hour long swedish massage. We were greeted nicely and promptly. We were taken to the locker room, which was a mess. The robe I was given to wear had a nasty stain on it. I was picked up from the waiting room by my therapist and taken straight into the massage room. It was very small, a little messy, and was hot. As soon as I got onto the massage table and the sheets were on me, I was sweating. I eventually cooled down. My massage therapist was very nice but she would not stop talking the entire time!!! I was not feeding into the conversation at all and she wouldn't stop talking. If that wasn't bad enough, she was talking about inappropriate and very personal things. It made me uncomfortable and kept me from fully relaxing during the massage. Throughout my experience at this location of Spa Sydell I was nagged about buying things. They tried to sell candles, lotions, bath salts, facials, etc. to my mother and I several times each. It was very pushy and extremely annoying. My massage was very good, but not great. From my overall experience, I would not go to this spa again.
I had the best massage EVER at Spa Sydell Park Place with Bill. He gives the best deep tissue massage, and being a man nobody ever has strong enough hands to work out my kinks. The staff was so friendly and kind. They had no problem helping me from start to finish. When I called to book the appointment the people on the phone were so helpful. They were very detailed about what I was going to experience so I felt comfortable with the whole process. They were running their anual August sale which is a steal on their massges, so I purchased the 6 pack of 90min sessions. Finding a great massage therapist is difficult. I have been to many places and spent thousands of dollars, and I have finally found a therapist who is a master of their craft. I told Bill exactly how I like my massage and he didnt miss a beat. GO SPA SYDELL!!!!!
I came in from out of town and needed my nails taken care of. I called Spa Sydell and they were able to take care of me immediately. I was very impressed with the service I received from nail tech Ruth. I wish I lived close enough to go to her every week. The hostess, Tracy, was very helpful. I had to call from my cell phone on my way because I got on the road to get there from my hotel and thought I had gotten turned around or went too far and she almost became a GPS for me. If I am ever back this way, you can be assured that I will go back and request Ruth. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I have had in along time. Next time though, I think I will be there for quite a while. Ruth, I hope you read this because I really would like to take you back to Alabama with me. You are AMAZING.
