As a local I have been to Balanced Bodywork many times. I've tried a few different therapists and have great experiences with everyone. The setting is tranquil and the prices are very reasonable. I've only tried the traditional 90 minute massage but have heard the stone massage, reflexology and sports massage are equally amazing.

I highly recommend Balanced Bodywork and Massage. I am on the United States Olympic Biathlon Team and when I came home this Christmas my body was a wreak! Tim put me back together and I am ready to compete again. Whether you are looking for a high level sports massage or a relaxing and calming experience, you will find it here!

We arrived at our appointed time 15 minutes early. We were new customers to this business and we wanted to get the paper work done. The employees were eating lunch in waiting room and there was no room to sit down. We offered to come back in few minutes and left. Staff still eating 15 minutes later. My husband was burned by the moist heat (he had a 90 minute sport massage) and I had a 30 minute massage. I did not enjoy the experience. My mood was off due to the way we were treated initially and the 10 minute wait on the table. New to getting massages, but I will not be going back to this business. However, my husband (training for Ironman) felt the deep tissue work was good. He has a high pain tolerance and only noticed the welts, when I pointed them out. My brother in law (also a tri-athlete) went through with his 90 minute sport massage, which he booked previous to our experience. He enjoyed the deep tissue work and he was not burned after his massage. I never write reviews, but I feel strongly that this is not the best body work in Lake Placid.

So the prices are incredible. I mean you can get a 30 minute massage for 40 dollars. I think thats great. Also a regular hour for 70 dollars. My friend opted for that one, and I opted for a stone massage at 90 dollars (OMG worth it!). The people who worked here were so absolutely friendly. They were welcoming and made sure that we were both very comfortable. I got my massage done by Heidi and she was great, she explained throughly what was going to happen during a stone massage (cause it was my first time), and made sure that I was comfortable throughout. She did a great job and I left feeling like a melted piece of butter. Incredible. My friend shannon got her massage done by I believe Christina. IDK exactly what happened but all I know is she came out looking like she had been transported to another world. She was completely out of it and fully relaxed. GREAT experience, would recommend them to anyone!
