Spa In the Hollow

So the facility is nice and its appearance is steadily improving. However the people irritate me. I was told that their clientele doesn't get nail art and then asked if I was given a gift certificate or something. All I wanted was a ribbon for breast cancer awareness. I was rushed out the door when the manicurist was done with my nails. Which have air bubbles and the paint was peeling off before I got home. The tips were not even evenly painted. This is all after I have been calling and e-mailing them since November to get services I pre-paid for. She bad mouth a co-worker and looked at her phone. She was obviously being fake nice and I was not impressed. I had great experiences with the ladies that do waxes but everyone else was not my cup of tea. I won't be back and I suggest you not go.
I was given a gift certificate for Spa in the Hollow last year, and finally decided to use it for a Mother to Be massage. From the moment I came in, I was rushed around, was told I could sit in the sitting room and have tea and cookies and was immediately whisked away, not able to enjoy my tea, and yet I was 15 minutes early for my appointment. Because I'm pregnant I had to lay on my side for the massage, which was fine, but the tables are so rock hard, I came out with more hip and joint pain than when I went in. I then got the deluxe pedicure, to which the woman doing my pedicure wouldn't rub my feet or legs (which is a part of the service) because I'm pregnant and she said she isn't certified to do prenatal massage. What that has to do with feet, and also the fact that they knew I was pregnant while booking the appointment, is still a mystery to me, and I received no money or credit refunded despite the service paid for being extremely lacking. The nail technician kept leaving and coming back to wait on other customers and also was on her phone during my pedicure. She also wouldn't even let me use the massage function on my chair because I'm pregnant! I think that should be left up to ME, not her, and not sit here and lecture me about it. To top off my horrible experience, when checking out, they told me I lost 10% of my gift certificate as it was an older certificate even though the certificate clearly states that it does not expire and I cleared this with them on the phone BEFORE I booked the appointment! The snarky woman at the front desk went on to say "Well it doesn't expire, but there is now a 10% loss fee." I told her that I refuse to pay that because the certificate clearly states that it doesn't expire and if the 10% loss for it being older means that part of the certificate expired, and that goes against what the certificate states. Finally she conceded after arguing back and forth, and she didn't even give me the option to tip on my card or give me a receipt. She just scanned the card and said "Have a nice day." I wouldn't have tipped much because of this awful experience, but their own front desk worker screwed their other workers out of a tip because she was mad. This was over $135 worth of service, and I went in less stressed than I came out. The place overall was not that updated or cleanly looking. Overall, just go somewhere else and save your money!
This Spa is my favorite spa in the area. I love the ambiance- its peaceful, and serene and I really like the massages. I usually go there once every three months or so, and it is well worth it.
I honestly wish there was a setting to give this spa "0" stars. I have been to multiple spas.. anywhere from Pittsburgh to Savannah Georgia. I am DISGUSTED by the customer service at this location. My boyfriend surprised me with an appointment to get a full set of the lash extension. I was thrilled! I had gone through chemo 3 years prior, and my lashes never grew back to their prior long and full selves. Well, my first impression of the spa was that the restroom/changing room was incredibly dated and dingy. Not that it's important, but to me, I like to feel pampered at a spa.. even if it's just going to the bathroom. The customer service was nice enough, and my lashes looked great when I left. Well as the next week wore on, and my lashes began to shed as they naturally would.. I noticed that 3-4 of my natural lashes were stuck together with glue to 2 of the extensions. Meaning, as one of my natural lashes would try to shed off.. and I would go to pull it.. I would end up removing MULTIPLE natural lashes. This was incredibly uncomfortable, and was causing me to loose chunks of the extensions at a time. By the end of my 2nd week I looked absolutely ridiculous. I called the manager and sent her photos of my lashes, and she never admitted to the application being done very poorly. She just told me how to remove the rest of them. It took me asking to have my boyfriends money refunded, for them to offer to re-do the job again. At this point I was in tears, because what lashes I DID have prior to this hack job, were short stubs that even mascara couldn't improve. I told them I DO NOT want any of their employees touching me in anyway! They fought me tooth and nail, and said that they can offer me a spa credit for another service. Reluctantly I agreed. I then set our $150 credit to be used for a duet message for my boyfriend and I prior to Valentines day. I set this appointment 4 days in advance from the day where were to go in, using their online scheduler. I got 2 confirmations, telling me that we were booked and whom with.. only to have someone call me AN HOUR BEFORE OUR APPOINTMENT that they didn't have enough massage therapists scheduled for the day, and the system only booked one message. I called them back, furious, and demanded my money back! We had our shoes on ready to leave for this appointment!!! The woman I spoke to apologized, not sincerely.. and told me she would have to call me back in a half hour to see if they could refund my boyfriend his money or not, since refunds is not in their policy. THESE PEOPLE COULD SET YOU ON FIRE during a service, and tell you OH WELL. DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR A SPA!!!
Worst Experience I have ever had. The people that work here are rude , they have no clue on how to make their customers happy or for that matter what they are doing in general. If you are looking for a good experience may i suggest you go somewhere else! And as a side note I find it kinda funny on both review sites as soon as someone writes a bad review someone pops up with an amazing review correcting whatever the negative comment said. May I suggest this spa up there customer service standards and they wouldnt have to have there employees do damage control on the review sites!
