Day Spa 12 West Stone
Reviews
I purchased the all day package for $200.00 over the phone. Which on the website is listed as 175.00. I guess that should have been my first clue,, but i overlooked it because they were scheduling the appointment on short notice (4 day notice) I gave this package as a gift for my spouse and she was very disappointed. Upon arrival the staff was rude and not very enagaging. The hairstylist was late for her portion of the day. The building was cold as in freezing. Even the manager was bundled up in a blanket. Champagne lunch was a 1/2 sandwich and chips from Atlanta Bread company. Although it was tasty I would hardly think that is what you expect from a "SPA". Save your money, the other reviews were right
I am sorry to see this spa being offered on Groupon. I am not a picky person, but this spa is awful. Every negative review that I have read is exactly what I experienced... from the bad smell, to the poor quality of service, to the rude employees. The nail tech was an hour late, and I didn't receive so much as an apology or explanation. When she did get there, she commented to another employee, in front of me, "oh well, s**t happens". The facial was terrible, the woman coughed right over my face and didn't even speak to me other than to try to sell me another service for an extra $25. The best part of the whole experience was the champagne lunch (sandwhich and chips). Please, please believe the negative reviews... they are all TRUE!!! I'm wondering who wrote the positive ones!!!???
I bought a Living Social Deal for this place, solely based on the name (because it sounded nice, and it was an Aveda salon). I didn't do my research before I bought it, and I wish I had. Thankfully I got a nice hair cut there, and my stylist (Missy) was very nice and did a great job. However, I would never go back mostly for the atmosphere. The main issue was: it stunk to high heaven in there. And, not just normal salon smells... we are talking old house musty mixed with filthy cat litter. It was one of those smells that your nose never gets used to. I was amazed that I could still smell the horribleness of it through the whole visit. Another issue I had, which matches other reviews I've read, is terrible customer service. The woman running the "front desk" seriously looked homeless. Like a flannel jacket and old stocking cap, and although she didn't have on fingerless gloves, I would not have been surprised if she had. When I told her I was using my Living Social, she seemed annoyed, especially when I didn't have a printed off version ( I was using my iphone). She commanded me to read the numbers off to her, so I did, but put the phone in front of her so she could see it too (because I know some ppl like to look at the numbers when writing them down). When she didn't get them all written down the first time, she asked me to read them again, and I just showed her the phone, she commanded me to read them aloud. Then, she asked for my first/last name, which was right on the voucher too. She kept misspelling my name, so I showed her where the name was on the phone, and she rudely said "I want you to say it out loud, I'm not looking at that!". And, I did not get any spa services there, and I'm glad I didn't. It looked filthy in there, and the smell truly would make for a non-relaxing experience. My husband had to walk in to bring me something, and the first thing he commented on when I left was "Whew, that smell!" It truly was horrible. One of the worst smells I've ever smelled.
I made an appointment about two weeks ago after coloring/cutting my hair at home, leaving it orange and gaped up.I went in and was greeted by the lady at the front desk then taken back to be introduced to the hair stylist.I showed her a picture of the color and cut that I wanted and she did an excellent job! After finishing up,I was introduced to all of the different Aveda products they sell and which would be best for the specific issues that I have with my hair.I purchased the suggested products, after one use I could already notice a huge difference in the look and feel of my hair.I almost didn't go because of all the bad reviews that I had read on here, but I'm glad I did because I had a wonderful experience.I will definitely be returning to try all of the other services/products they offer!
I went into the Spa a couple of weeks ago for a massage and pedicure.I first had the pedicure, which was really nice with the massaging chair and the lady also gave a relaxing leg/foot massage as well. After the pedicure I was taken back to the massage room.I had a couple of troubled areas that she focused on,after the full body massage I felt 100% better.Best massage I've ever had! I will be going back regularly for massages and pedicures.
