Ivy Color Salon

The stylist there are great. Tiffany does my hair for me & I always feel like a star when I leave. My 8 yr old daughter had her hair done by Lawrence. This is the 1st place that i have taken her that she hasnt left crying because the stylist was too rough for her. She love the experiance & looked like a hair model when he was done. Her hair is super thick, curly & long(down to her waist), Lawrence washed, dried, cut & flat ironed her hair. She has been walking around tossing her hair & doing the "super model walk" ever since. Thanks Ivy ya'll are great!!
Wow. Loved the experience and results! Cara was fantastic. She took the time to learn about my hair and made some great recommendations. I absolutely loved the color, cut, and style she did. And the experience was very relaxing, with the aromatherapy. I also like that the products are all natural. The pricing is competitive and you get more than you pay for, in my opinion! So happy to have discovered Ivy and Cara!
I went in to have my hair highlighted at the location on Pelham. I brought in my color record and everything, all they had to do was follow directions. My hair is dark brown but I have it highlighted very very blonde. The stylist did not do my root color with ELC between the highlight foils, so I still had an 8-week growth showing. Then I was going to be sent out the door with wet hair. I told the stylist to dry it and agreed to paying the extra money. I agreed to it because I was sick and not in the mood to argue, but I do NOT understand why someone paying $125 for highlights should have to pay an additional $25 to leave with a dry head. It should be dried anyway to check the color. I have never been to an Aveda salon where I had to pay to for a blow dry and I will not return to this salon.
I went to have a perm. my experience was very awkward. I specifically told the girl it would take two perm solution for my hair as it always has in the past. Because my hair is long and thick. she rolled my hair and only put 1 bottle of solution in. she said she didn't think it needed another and then turned to her co worker and asked what she thought. her coworker kept working on the person she was servicing, never walked over to really look and agreed with my hairdresser. She then walked away to let it sit for 20 minutes, never put a bag on my head, nor put me under a dryer. She came back, took the rollers out, rinsed my hair, applied the neutralizer for 5 minutes, rinsed again, and then took me to her chair. She patted my hair dry slightly with a towel, never combed through with a pick or anything. My hair was dripping so I asked for another towel and tried to dry my hair as best I could with it. The lighting was very dim so I could barely see my hair in the mirror. She never offered an extra mirror to see the back. I paid a very large amount of money and when I finally got home to where I could see my hair, I was very disappointed in the fact that my hair did not perm. There was barely any curl to it and a lot of very stringy pieces. I called her but they said she was busy and couldn't come to the phone so I left a message for her to call me. She never called I had to call again the next day; same thing, I had to leave a message. She finally called back and when I explained what the issue was she claimed maybe clipping the ends would help lighten it up so the curl would spring. I explained to her there was no curl to spring at all. My hair is around 10 inches long and at least seven or more inches on the ends were straight. She said she would have to talk to her manager to see what could be done and called me back because her manager was not in the office that week. She NEVER called me back!!! I will never use this facility again. They did NOT give me a true service and yet they still took my money. I do not recommend this place for any one!
This is my favorite salon. Lawrence is amazing and I love all of the ladies up front as well!
