King Spa & Sauna

I love this place. got so relaxed I fell asleep in 2 of the saunas. the indoor water park is wonderful and kid friendly. even though a lot of people come here, it never seems to be over crowded. I'm extremely satisfied and will continue to make this place a habit of mine.
King Spa was great fun yesterday. It's normally $35 to enter. You may want to take at least twice that amount per person so you can get a massage or body scrub and eat. I recommend taking a shower and bath before eating and using all their rooms. I'm thinking about going once a month myself. A lot of people do yoga and stretching in the rooms. If there's charcoal in the rooms, sit as close to it as you can. There's writing everywhere telling you the benefits and such. I thought it was a pretty family friendly activity. They were very strict on proper etiquette and cleanliness. The only places that nakedness are allowed is in the segregated locker room and baths. The latter is mandatory, that no clothes or anything that can bring dirt and scum into the hot tubs are allowed. I was very overwhelmed at first with everything. If you want to go, go with someone the first time.
If this is your first time going here, let me walk you through what you are going to experience. From my experience. They have a "wet" area and a "dry" area. The wet area is divided into female and male, and they are going to give you a uniform to wear, a key to a locker, and a two towels. A large towel and a small towel. Once you arrive into the female area, be mentally prepared to see some females not clothed. It was a slight culture shock to me, but after awhile you get use to it.You undress and put all your personal belongings into the locker and proceed to the "wet" area. You must shower before entering into the hot spa. And they have clean white buckets where you can place your towel because you'll need that to dry yourself off. Let's just say all the muscles in my body was relaxed in that warm water... Now! To the dry area, before you leave the female area you'll wear their uniform and enter into the larger area with different rooms. Inside those rooms have different temperatures and my favorite was the salt rock room. Not to hot, not to cold. At least for me. Take your time and see which room is beneficial to you, because everyone is different. Oh! Remember to bring a swimsuit along, because they also have a water-park in the back and it is huge! Beautiful, clean, and after you get past the culture shock -- this place is wonderful.
Warning to parents planning to bring children to the waterpark! If your child is 1 cm. shorter than 4 feet, they will be required to wear a life jacket. The life jacket supplied by the spa is a blow-up life jacket that is not certified as a safe jacket. The air billows up around the child's neck, does not fit properly, and the plastic is scratchy. Basically, the life jacket cancels any fun that the child plans to have. Also, children cannot access the waterpark slide unless they are 4 ft. tall. So, my child (who swims like a fish and goes down much higher slides at other water parks) was not able to actually use these facilities. The rude pool attendant states that the life jackets and slide access are mandated by state law (not true). Several sets of parents were very angry about this situation.
Horrible customer service. If you live in the DFW area, you are aware of the weather that we have been having lately. On Sunday, it was pouring rain. On Monday, it was solid ice. On Tuesday, we had the after math, on Wednesday, it was snowing. I had planned on using a Groupon deal which I had purchase on Sunday with a friend and it was set to expire today, Wednesday. I gave them a call to see if they could extend this for me just until Friday when the weather was nice again. They were very rude about it and did not offer any leeway. Now, I understand we are given 90 days to use it but I had be planing for a long time to go on Sunday. Unfortunately, the goal of Groupons are to give customers a chance to try out the business. If their experience is a positive one, the goal is for the customer to return and tell others about it. I have worked in Customer Service, and also with business who work with Groupon in the past and I understand that the business could have chosen to extend the voucher. I am extremely how little my safety was valued and how quick they were just to cut me off of extending the voucher.
