BeautyWorx Med Spa
Reviews
WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT...I got a deal through living social for a sauna, body wrap and facial. Honestly, this was the worst spa treatment I have ever had. I felt rushed through the entire process. This was NOT my first spa experience but I still like to be informed about what to expect during my appt as every establishment operates a little differently. I was not told what was going to be done first or by whom. Also, this is more of a medispa than and spa so I understand that it wasn't going to offer the same level of a relaxing environment that you would expect from a traditional spa. As for the sauna and body wrap experience...I was brought to the sauna room and was told what to do with the sauna machine. Another lady called me out after about 15min inside the sauna, for my wrap and facial. I was surprised by this because the living social deal indicated that I would get a 45 minute sauna session and (as I referenced the lack of communication earlier).no one told me that I would be called out after only 15 minutes. I literally wasn't in the sauna long enough to break a sweat, which is why I was so confused when the lady came to get me for the facial and body wrap. So, at the end of the day, the sauna session was POINTLESS for me. My facial and body wrap service were done at the same time. I was equally disappointed by both treatments. I have never had a facial where a steamer was not used. I'm just glad I did not have to pay full price for this service...otherwise I would have been extremely disappointed. Also, facials are a time of relaxation for me so I generally don't like to engage in conversation during the treatment unless it has to do with my skin. In my past experience at other spas, I find that aestheticians usually honor this. However, the beauty worx aesthetician was very talkative and asked several personal questions, which some may have deemed quite unprofessional. I didn't let this bother me too much though because I'm sure that was just her way of being friendly. As for the body mask, I had to wipe off the body mask on my own without proper rinsing off by a staff. I walked out stuck smelling like seaweed for the rest of the afternoon...and noticed that I still had on some of the body mask in some places! The spa rooms have dim lighting so it was hard to see the places i missed when I wiped myself off. I had to take a shower as soon as I got home. I may not be their typical client but, I still paid for the service and I expect to get the same service like others. Afterall, I would have definitely considered coming back if I had a better experience. I am new to the Houston area and am looking for a spa where I can get routine facials. Beauty Worx will not be it. I have NEVER taken the time to write an online review. I am not one to complain as I am generally a very patient and understanding person. However, I have submitted an online review about this medispa because it was so disappointing and I think future customers should know what they may be getting themselves into...particularly if it's through a living social deal. Hopefully, their standard customers have a more positive experience.
