Massage Envy
Reviews
I have had a 1 year membership, and the masseuses are of variable skill. One time in particular, I was given a "massage" by a Hispanic woman who basically gave a massage like she was pounding dough. And when I can cancelled my membership, they did not disclose that I had to use my leftover massages within 30 days. Buyer BEWARE! Circumspect business practices with mediocre to poor quality.
Can never get an appointment. They sell you a membership and refuse to allow you to use it when you are available. I was sold a membership with the pitch that I could go when it was convenient for me. Absolutely not true. And, if you cancel, they keep all of your money from any massages that you are owed. There are plenty of other places that you can get a massage for the same price and it won't cost you a membership that you won't be able to use. Update: Tried to transfer a massage to a friend, as other clinics have allowed me to do so that I'm not stuck going to this horrible location, and they made me make several phone calls to do so. I've been able to transfer at several locations, including Houston, Memphis, Austin, and San Antonio. They just refused to do any of the leg work as they were only interested in taking my money, not in delivering quality service. Please do not waste your time at this location. I truly wish that I could give 0 stars.
the meyerland location needs plenty of work! It is completely unorganized and in my opinion filthy compared to other massage envy locations. I called in to make my appointment and asked for a relaxation Swedish massage. When i show up I'm asked to switch my therapist because i was accidentally booked for a deep tissue. I was fine with that. mistakes happen. The problem I had though was that it effected my massage time by 20 minutes. when i finally went in for my massage there was dried lotion or something on the sheets. it was pretty disgusting. i sucked it up because i needed the massage and figured dried lotion wasnt going to hurt me. i needed to man up! But the idea that they dont switch out sheets or clean anything after massages is pretty sick! oh and the tranquility room is a joke. for some reason people are constantly walking though... could have something to do with the ozarka water dispenser sitting between the two chairs. i usually go to the river oaks location (which i highly recommend) but they are always booked so last minute appointments are out of the question. they do have great therapists, stafff, and they serve water in bottles in not those tiny shot glasses like at meyerland plaza.
