Urban Oasis Day Spa

To be fair, I never got to go.I tried calling many times to make an appointment and never got an answer. Once I finally got someone on the phone, she wasn't the scheduler. She was polite and took my name and number and let me know she would have someone call me back. They did call me back and were polite and helpful. The morning of our appointment ( a friend from out of town and I were going together) I got a call to let me know the girl who was supposed to perform the services called in sick. They offered to rebook with 50% discount, but didn't have any availability until after my friend left. We weren't able to get in at another spa.
Always packed so make sure to make an appointment but its a great place.
This place is getting a one star from me just because the massage therapist and facialist were nice. If it wasn't for that the facility would get no stars, I can not refer to this facility as a spa because the atmosphere was less relaxing then your everyday strip center nail salon. Not to mention I have had far better service at strip center nail salons then I did at Urban Oasis. My husband booked the spa package for me that was suppose to contain a mani/pedi, 60 minute massage, facial, and lunch. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment as I was asked to. I was immediately greeted but was then taken to an OVERCROWDED, small room, where my pedicure was suppose to begin. (DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICS ONLINE.....THIS PLACE IS SMALL) There was a large party taking place in the room. I am perfectly fine with large parties. I like to have fun with my friends too......but I was expecting to come to a spa and relax......not have a drunk lady in my face talking to me while I STOOD up against a wall waiting for 55 MINUTES for my services to begin. This was not a SPA atmosphere at all. When my mani/pedi finally began, the technician was terrible. I almost jumped every time she clipped my nails because she was taking skin with them. The pedi was mediocre and the mani was terrible. Paint is already chipping 24 hours later and the poor girl couldn't file nails evenly to save her life. With my package I was suppose to receive lunch. Keep in mind I arrived at 12:45 so you would expect to have lunch sometime soon after that. They could have brought me food while I waited for 55 minutes but instead, they forgot about my lunch and finally at 2:30 asked what I wanted to order. At 2:50 they told me the kitchen was backed up and would I like to cancel my order or take it to go. NEITHER I said, I am hungry and want to eat. So they told me I would eat after my massage......which would be 4:00. I'm sorry, I am not eating lunch at 4:00 when we have 6:45 diner reservations. As it was, they finally brought me my food at 3:00 and told me to "EAT FAST BECAUSE WE NEED TO WISK YOU INTO YOUR MASSAGE." What part of relaxing does this place not understand. So I crammed my food down. Got a 40 minute massage when my husband paid for a 60 minute. The massage was good and so was the facial, but now the paint on my toes is all messed up because they sent me for a massage with wet paint. I'm not a drinker, but I needed a drink after this place. Aren't SPAS suppose to make you feel quit the opposite?!?!? The best part is the manger, which I believe was the owner, asked how things were going. When I told her the facial and massage were good but the first 2 hours experience were terrible............her response was, "well I hope the back made up for it." Uh no, this was a terrible, un- relaxing day that we spent a lot of money on. Needless to say, if my husband had not dropped me off, I would have just walked out. Do not waste your money here. Spend a little more somewhere else and enjoy your day! P.S. My big toe hurts today so no telling was that's all about!
I have been to UO about 3 to 4 times now and they are not very good anymore. Tom is the only one who knows how to do a good pedi. They have an older lady doing pedi's as well and she looks like she would rather be at home sewing or something. Not to mention she likes to speak another language to her coworkers. She has the typical cheap salon rudeness. I will only go back if Tom is available.
The facial and chemical peel I got here was fabulous! Amanda is fantastic. We booked a party for a friend that was getting married and several other guests and were treated as if we were all royalty.
