Zana Day Spa
Reviews
Shannon gives the best deep-tissue massage I've ever had. She's amazing.
My review has to do entirely with the manager providing extremely poor customer service. Having previously worked in five star hotels and resorts, I have never encountered a manager who thought it was acceptable to communicate her response to a client complaint through a staff member, make the client FULLY responsible for a miscommunication for which the client and Zana staff were equally responsible and just be extremely rude. This experience would not have resulted in me taking the time to review the spa online if my issue had been addressed politely and with some class. After encountering a miscommunication regarding my spa services, for which I spent over $200 prior to taxes and tip, the manager's response (through staff) to my (annoyed but polite) question regarding unexpected additional costs was that I hadn't understood what I was booking, that I should have checked web prices and that it was hard to believe that I thought all of that would be covered by my gift certificate. Apparently relying on telephone communication with a staff member was not enough to hope I'd booked what I'd asked for. When I went to see her in person the next day, still annoyed but polite, she was rude, defensive and responded with "You misunderstood" to anything I questioned. In 6 years of working at high end hotels and resorts, I have never encountered a manager who thought a client spending over $200 did not warrant a return phone call after asking to speak with her, showed not even the least amount of understanding and empathy or thought it was appropriate to be so rude in addressing a client. I'd very much advise any existing or future clients to consider spending their money elsewhere.
