I have been a client at Cut Ups for the past 12 years. The staff is helpful and calls to remind me of my appointments. They are always friendly when I arrive and I always have a nice chat with their receptionist. More importantly? After George does my hair I always receive compliments. It is always what a great hair cut I have. George works with my hair, as crazy thick and full of cowlicks that it is! Thanks to everyone at Cut Ups who make me look and feel great!
I will never go back there!! The business does not respect their customers. My stylist passed away, and they didn't let me know! I was an established customer for over 10 years. My stylist Geri was truly a lovely person and an artist with my hair. I considered her my friend. I recently called for an appointment with her. The receptionist first told me Geri didn't work there anymore, (I made some comment), then she told that me, well, she had retired, (I made another comment) so then she finally told me that she had passed away a month or so ago...!! I was obviously very dismayed to hear of her passing and asked 2 questions: 1.) Why were her customer not notified?? and 2.) was there an address so I could send a card of sympathy to her husband or donate to something per her request? I was told someone would get back to me, but 5 or 6 days passed and still no call, so I called again and was told that the owner had been away and had been too busy to call me back. It is unconscionable and disrespectful to both Geri, and to me, that her clients were not contacted after her passing, and just plain rude that I got no response after my call. I don't patronize businesses that don't appear to value and show respect to their customers or employees. I will never go there again.
This is in response to Ms. Brill's post. I worked aside of Geri for seven years and the last time you visited the Salon on January 4th, she already knew and scheduled her retirement, to take place, February 15th. Funny, she didn't mention that to you. She did retire on that date and was diagnosed after that. We at Cut Ups respected Geri and her husband Tom's wishes, that we do not call her clients, which is what we did, and that is why, you did not receive a phone call. So, I think you should have respect for Geri, and her wishes, at that time, and not make this about you.
