Whilst this salon is obviously student-run, you do expect a certain level of service. My friend decided to get his hair cut there because it was supposed to be $5 - we waited for an hour before being seen, and a student proceeded to cut his hair. About 45 minutes later her supervisor came over and whispered 'Oh sh*t!' whilst looking at the student's handiwork. When she finally finished, his hair looked practically the same as when he'd gone in. When we got to the checkout we were told it was actually $10 because he hadn't had a 'clipper cut'. I decided to give it another chance and went back for a shellac nails manicure, it being listed as $10 on the board. The girl doing my nails was very friendly but I grew more and more concerned as I watched her inexpertly apply the gel and smudge it all over the tips of my fingers, and miss off the edges and the bottoms of the cuticles. I consoled myself with the fact it was only $10 - yet when I got to the till, surprise surprise, it was in fact $18. When I questioned this, they said it was because the gel nails was an 'add on' and you had to combine the price of it with the price of a standard manicure. I am not impressed! This place is definitely not cheap enough to warrant such mediocre service. I advise you to pay a bit more and go to see the professionals - in most cases, I doubt you will be paying much more at all.
I went to the student salon where there are suppose to be "senior" level students doing hair, I only got a blow out but was not impressed at all with her work.
I took my daughter to get a wash/blowout. We didn't wait long to be served. The students were professional. I was pleased with the job the young lady did. My daughter's hair was soft and flowing. It was only $5.00. We will be going back.
