Spa At the Del Monte
Reviews
I had a wonderful stone massage. The facility was nicely decorated/appointed, modern, clean. Especially loved the shower with all of the water streams. I just felt the treatment was overpriced. I would go elsewhere next time.
I received a gift card about 18 months ago and just had the opportunity to use it! I was very excited about getting a massage and it was my first time there. I loved it. It wasn't rushed, the sauna and showers were great, overall a nice relaxed atmosphere. In addition to being well appointed, the staff was friendly and polite. I would recommend this and will visit them again!
Went for a pedicure... The most expensive for the least you can get. The place is beautiful but the quality lack luster. I get so much more with my regular spa for a lot cheaper and they even give a 5 minute neck massage after the pedi. Like many warned me "its only name". It wasnt even relaxing =/ I had such high expectations for a special day and i wanted to cry after what i paid for such a low return. Yup, wont be back!
I had my first trip to the Del Monte Spa last sunday, the 12th. I had high expectations due to what I've been hearing from friends and family. My first session was a deep tissue massage, that was FAR from deep tissue. I regularly get deep tissue massages at another location, and this massage fell very short. Not only did I have to pay EXTRA for a deep tissue massage, it felt like a firm pressure- AT BEST. Very disappointed, especially because the areas I had asked her to focus on, she completely skipped over. In fact, the following day I had to get a massage because my areas of concern were very sore and still hurt. I was pleased with my facial, although there were still some things I want to express concern over. Elizabeth was very professional, spoke quietly and made sure I was comfortable. However, I would have liked her to explain what she was doing, while it was going on. For example, what products she was applying, why she was applying them, etc.. Also, I had to recommendation afterwards to buy products- which my boyfriend had put extra money on my gift card so I could specifically do that. The last part of my day was a spa pedicure, which was what I was looking forward to the most. I specifically booked the longest pedicure possible, because my feet are always a problem area for me. During the pedicure, I wish I had booked the shortest. To start, the area was very quiet and relaxing. After 10 minutes, another client had walked in, who apparently was a past employee of the del monte. The ENTIRE time, there was nothing but loud and obnoxious gossiping. I had to chug my wine, and close my eyes to even attempt to block it all out. But the worst part- my nail technician had the nerve to stop my session, get up and show another nail technician how to make the client a latte. I was appalled, and at that point I had wished my session was over. In fact, there were multiple times that I almost told my technician to end the session so I could just get out of there. It was also frustrating to see that my nail technician could see the annoyance in my face, and didn't tell her fellow employees to lower their voices. Upon checking out I did speak with Kylie, the spa supervisor who did apologize for the trouble, and discounted a little off. I think the solution was satisfactory, simply because now I have a remaining balance on my gift card, that honestly would not cover ANY service. I understand the del monte is known for their immaculate appearance and spa-like atmosphere, but based off my experience here, I would much rather go somewhere else and save my money.
After reading some of the reviews here I had to post. The Del Monte has been nothing but perfectly pleasurable on each of my many visits. Not only do you get the full experience of being totally pampered, but each service I've selected has been extraordinary. From the time you enter the spa to stumbling your very relaxed body out its nothing but above par service.
