I have been to A LOT of salons in Richmond and I can say that Scissors is the best in town! I have never met a nicer group of people in my life. Allison greeted me, gave me a tour of the salon and provided me with beverages and fresh popcorn!! Then the amazing Simone took one look at my hair which had been butchered by another salon and not only fixed it but transformed my hair!! Simone and Allison gave me pointers on how to not only take care of my hair but styling tips as well. I came out of there looking like a million dollars! My husband said my hair is the best it has ever looked!! Thank you Simone for not only gorgeous blond color but a sexy cut that turns heads! You are the best!!

You know, a great way to find a good stylist is to ask someone with fabulous hair where they go. Well, that is how I found Simone at Scissors Hair Studio. The friend who told me about Simone has hair that is nothing like mine; hers is very soft and fine. Mine is so thick and so coarse, that I actually feel sorry for any stylist whose doorstep I have darkened. The first time I went to Simone, we talked about my hair and what I wanted and she offered suggestions for a couple of cuts. During our conversation, it became apparent to me that she really knew what she was doing. So much so that I felt completely comfortable letting her pick the cut and style. I didn't regret it. She gave me a great cut and an undercut like I have never had before. Because my hair is so thick, I have had plenty of undercuts before, but this one was very unique. She removed a tremendous amount of unnecessary bulk from my hair. In doing so, washing, drying, and styling my hair is not the chore that it used to be. I am able to dry my hair much faster and when it's dry it actually has motion and movement, rather than just hanging there serving no other purpose than to give a good indication of the relative humidity in the air. Not only does Simone offer great advice, she has the skills to back it up. As I mentioned, my friend and I have very different heads of hair, and she does a great job of creating a great style for both of us. I've been going to Simone for about two years now, and these days, people ask me who my stylist is :).

Simone is the best!! I discovered Scissors two years ago & had my first appointment on my birthday which was the best birthday present! I have been getting my hair colored and cut at Scissors faithfully since! She has been able to make my curly, long hair beautiful! I have people stop me constantly complimenting my hair! She not only hides my roots & grays, but she adds hi-lights and low-lights to give me such natural beachy sun drenched locks that are perfectly cut and styled! Her staff is also a pleasure to experience, including the cuddly kitty that sits on my lap! 5 stars plus!!!

A great hairdresser is so hard to find and I have to say Allison is amazing. She takes time in listening to what you're looking for and makes great suggestions to mirror that. She is always more than happy to adjust your style slightly after styling should you wish to go a little shorter or to even style it differently to give you ideas. She is full of useful tips and the customer service at Scissors is always great from the minute you walk in. They are very accommodating.

Allison gave me a great haircut! I'm a guy but since my hair is starting to get thinner it's easy for me to see when someone pays close attention to details and knows what they are doing. Also, place is charming with a spa upstairs, but very reasonably priced. My haircut was only $27! That's only $7 more then the revolving door chain places I used to go to. Long story short, I feel like this was a haircut and experience that was worth way more then I paid :).
