My dislike is more about the new rates than the center. The center itself is clean and has enough equipment to be mostly accessible during peak hours. The Staff is friendly and helpful. The members are also friendly. What I don't like is the new marketing and plans. The new rates are very deceptive. They appear to have gone down with the bonus of not having to sign a contract. That's not the full story. I was quoted $15/month for one location access. That's down from the $20/month with contract they used to offer. But, there's a catch. You must pay $40 to start and then two more $30 up-keep payments every 6 months, bringing your annual total an extra $100. So your actual yearly expense could break down to about $23 witch is more than lure price of $15. That's a lot to pay for single club access. Their other option is $25/month all club access it's only a $1 to start but still has the extra $60/ up-keep fee. These are up quit a bit from the $160/yr I used to pay with no extra fees for all club access which broke down to about 13.30/month. Which wasn't that long ago. I'll join because the location is very convenient for me, but as soon as another gym opens not far from there I'm out. Hopefully it will open in time for me to avoid the upkeep fees
I LOVE this gym and the Union location! I love how I can see outdoors while I workout... There's nothing better than being on the elliptical or taking a class when it's beautiful but 90 degrees outside! I feel as I get the best of both worlds at this location. Everyone on staff is WONDERFUL, and I can't believe other people have had bad experiences, because they always tell me hello and goodbye as I leave. If I have a question, they are always happy to help me. I've taken classes with both Angie and Jamie. I recommend their classes to everyone I know, and have even encouraged someone to join because of the classes. As long as I live in the south, I will be a member of this gym. My past experiences with other gyms pale in comparison, because there are no egos here. My only regret is that the Union location is not open on Sundays. :( Other than that, keep up the great work!
Decent gym, but not flexible on 2 year contract, and parent company has horrible customer service. Impossible to get out of a contract once you have signed up.
The staff are really nice, however something is always broken and not to mention the area is way too small to work out in, and not enough machinery. great location though.
Nice staff and clean place to work out. Wish they had a steamroom or sauna. Way better than the poplar location
