This gym is horrible, it is without a doubt the worst gym I have ever been a part of. The staff blows you off, the classes are never on time and always rescheduled and to top it all off if you want to cancel your membership they send you to Paramount who then tell you that you have to send proof of a new address that you then have to have notarized and blah blah blah... The bad thing is I would have kept the membership but me and the wife moved to Missouri and they still wont cancel the membership. If your reading this pay attention to how many people mention Paramount because they are the devil!!!!!
My wife and I joined this gym two years ago and will not be renewing our membership. Overall I would not recommend this gym to anyone. You get what you pay for I guess. Here are a few my pros and cons. Pros: -Affordable -Location was convenient for us Cons: -Staff is terrible -Bathrooms are terrible -Tanning beds are always gross -Billing is through a terrible company called Paramount Acceptance -Cellphone 4g/3g reception is bad at the poplar location -No daycare -Not the spa's fault but don't leave anything unattended it will be stolen -Cardio theater never has anything playing -Gets way to crowed at times -Very few paper towels holders and most of the time they are empty -Overall atmosphere of other members is bad -If you lose or tear your key tag they will charge you 5 dollars even if you just want to replace the old tag with a new one.
I've had a membership for 8 months I think in all I've been there maybe 15 times...in almost a year that's pretty bad..lost my tag and every time I go I have to give my full name in order to sign in..I've asked for a replacement and have been told to let "them" (who ever "them" is) know next time I come , but it's the same thing every time.. Also tried the Zumba class, and I felt so out of place...instructor never introduced himself (I am sure if he instructs there all the time he knows a new face) did not feel welcomed to come back and haven't since then.
BE AWARE...when you sign up for this gym you are really signing up for a finance company called Paramount to retain your credit card and billing information so that they can bill you every month and rob you when it comes time to cancel. While this gym has served its basic purpose for me in the last year and half dealing with their finance company Paramount is a complete joke when you are moving out of state. Cancelling your membership is like jumping through hoops in a circus. It has been two week and I have made zero progress. You can't go to the physical gym itself and speak with a supervisor or manager about it there because they have "no control" over what Paramount does or its regulations. They simply sell memberships -- beyond that you are on your own! As a business I would make sure I would maintain some control with my Finance provider for situations such as these. Forfeiting any kind of control to a finance company is irresponsible and poor business practice. Not only that, their hands are tied when they do want to help a client. Talk about customer service. Unfortunately, I think they prefer it that way. Paramount only accepts a mortgage note, a letter from an employer in the state you are moving, or a drivers license. I am not buying a house, I don't have a job yet in the city I am moving to, and a change of drivers license could take up to two months. They REFUSE to accept my lease as a change of address even though that is a perfectly acceptable proof of change of address. They claim it is because a lease can be easily altered...can all of the above approved forms of change of address not be altered to someone's advantage? Beyond this, there is nothing they can do for me...except to continually charge me until my gym membership runs out one year from now. The supervisor tested me further by asking me if I was moving because of job relocation..."actually I am moving because my fiance has been relocated...and wait...it's literally none of your business!" What does it matter, I am moving, I want to cancel my gym membership, I have a perfectly acceptable form of change of address. What could be the problem? If the issue isn't resolved in the next week I will have someone of legal authority to step in. Paramount's actions are criminal and French Riviera should rethink using them in the future as a financial service provider if they expect to retain clients. I will not recommend this gym or any gym that uses Paramount to anyone ever again.
I honestly cant believe you would have a person like this working for a reputable company. A man named Jerod Irvine came up to me talkin bout how I was fat while I was shoppin. After tellin me how fat I was he tried to get my number tellin me how he would work me out. He kept lookin me up and down and I said I was not interested. He would not let me walk off. He than told me that I should come to his kick boxing class so I could get a husband. I told him I has a husband and he told me he could work me out better than him. I can tell you I will never come to a gym called french riviera even if I want to lose some weight. I can't believe you would have people like this working for you.
