The Langham, Boston
Reviews
The Langham is a top notch hotel that is very centrally located in Boston. You probably couldn't ask for a better location. It is nestled in the heart of the financial district. Boston is a walking city but you can easily get anywhere from here and there are always a ton of cabs ready to go here. The hotel itself is gorgeous, has a great lounge called Bond and a few good restaurants, and a great conference hall my company has used on several occasions.
Superb attention to detail. Exceptional staff attentiveness. Wonderful experience. We will be back!
Not what I had expected for a 5 star hotel. This would be what I would expect out of a 3 star hotel at best. I paid way too much for a terrible experience... The shower head was rigged to work, but it did not stay in place when showering. The wrong shower head was matched with the original hook so it was floppy and loose. When showering you had to constantly adjust shower head to keep stream on yourself... Finally I bought some tape (at walgreens all they had was medical tape) and I taped it up. Then the sink did not work when we went to stop the drain to rinse our bathing suits. The drain pulled right out of the sink... The stains in the carpet were surprising, as were the dirty walls in bathroom... As we first entered the room we noticed the vent above doorway hanging down and from the ceiling...kind of dangerous if it fell when door opened or closed-I fixed this as well so it was not so dangerous. When we finally got to change the room Christopher, the manager was rude at first. We canceled our tour to take a taxi back to move our belongings and make the room change... Even the room change did not go well. Christopher did not give us the correct key to the room since it was changed already. We called a number of times to avoid walking back and eventually he sent security to open the door for us-10 minutes later security arrived. Only problem was he gave security the wrong name so we were not allowed in our room to move our belongings...finally we were granted access and we moved our things ourselves...the porter never showed up. Other than that it was great...lol.
Gorgeous hotel in downtown Boston with an old school feel. The bar, Bond, was the old Federal Reserve and has a unique vibe. The chocolate buffet is seasonal but has a ridiculous spread if you have a sweet tooth. Perfect location for a city wedding with picteresque Post Office Square for photo ops.
Pros: Very spacey rooms, clean, all linens and towels are of high quality. Small details all over that make you feel welcomed. The bathrooms are in excellent conditions and provided with quality toiletries. Its well located since you have close access to mos of Boston's historical sites. Cons: That there is no Langham in NY or DC.
